  • Welcome to Adam’s Gardening Guides.
One of my favourite garden roses, and one I think everyone should find space for, is the wonderful ‘Kew Gardens’.
This impressive English shrub rose was bred by renowned rose breeder David Austin.
Growing to around 5-6ft tall ‘Kew Gardens’ produces impressive displays through summer and well into autumn. To ensure this repeat-flowering performance be sure to deadhead promptly as flowers fade, and I’ll show you how in this video.
Thanks for watching, and if you enjoy this video please press the ‘thumbs up’ icon and subscribe to my channel at Adam’s Gardening Guides. Happy Gardening!

I should have mentioned ....'Kew Gardens' has excellent disease rsistance, so there is no need to spray! I've never noticed any sign of the common rose diseases like blackspot, rust or powdery mildew. It's now mid-October and I'm enjoying teh final flushes of flowers ... just checked the leaves and no sign of disease at all.

Verry beautiful!! Does it disease resistant and produce rose hips? Thank you very much.

Yes 'Kew Gardens' has excellent disease rsistance. I've never noticed any sign of the common rose diseases like blackspot, rust or powdery mildew. As you'll see in this video, I deadhead promptly after flowering to encourage further flushes of bloom so do not leave old flower heads to form hips. As an excellent repeat-flowering rose I don't believe 'Kew Gardens' forms colourful hips so would recommend you choose another variety if this is your aim. However for flowering performance in my eyes it's hard to beat!

Amazing rose! I'm waiting to plant 5 cuttings of the same "kew gardens rose" in any spot of my garden soon.
Is that one in the video a single rose? Which size has it reached? Thanks a lot

Yes this is the rose I've featured in this video. Newly planted roses will probably develop long stems reaching 4-5ft in height during their growing season with flowers at the tip. Once your rose is well established with a nice structure of woody stems at the base then shoots can grow taller and reach 6-7ft in height. However you will be pruning these back every winter so it can always be kept to a manageable size. I hope your cuttings root and grow well.

@@Adams-Gardening-Guides Thank you for your answer! One last thing I don't get about the "kew gardens" rose in the video. Is that a single guy or you've mass planted them? Sorry for the question 🙏

Yes this is just a single plant. Do give it space to grow and flourish.
