he was nervous. i literally live 5 minutes from the campus (i'm a rising senior) and georgetown, the neighborhood itself, is the best college town/area you can ask for. Georgetown University is the best location you can ask for. It as an amazing campus vibe with a college town-like area with high end and regular stores and tons of restaurants. It's 20 minutes from Tenley Town and Friendship Heights, 20 minutes from Downtown DC, 5 minutes from Arlington, 5 minutes from Georgetown... it has EVERYTHING. If you're not afraid to do Georgetown's application, which is sent in by mail and is only use-able for Georgetown (the reason I'm not applying), then apply FOR SURE.

@@nothingatall6882 Hey so I am a freshman in the College. When I applied last fall, I sent my application through the online portal. It is separate from the Common App, but no longer snail mail only. Georgetown's campus is amazing and I can't wait to be there in the spring!

Thoughts from a current Georgetown student:
- There definitely is a bit of cliquey-ness like Shawn mentioned, but it’s mostly limited to the super exclusive clubs. Everyone is genuinely kind to one another here for the most part. It’s really a nice environment.
- The food from what I understand USED to be worse, but it’s honestly not that bad now. I’d give it a 7/10 instead of the 5/10 Shawn gave it.
- He makes it sound like the dining options are very limited on campus. Yes, there is only one “dining hall,” but there are other restaurants and shops where you can get food (sometimes it’s included with your meal plan). My favorite on-campus option is Chick Fil A!
- I would not get late night snacks at Leo’s (the dining hall) like he said- there are various student-run shops on campus, and one of them is a snack shop that closes late so that people can get late night snacks. From what I’ve read, those student-run locations comprise the largest student-run business in the world.
- He’s right about it being a work-hard-play-hard vibe here. All I would add is that he makes it sound like you need to work a little bit harder than you actually do. Maybe his classes are harder.
- Bikes and scooters are not common to get around campus, like he said, but there are rental bikes and scooters on campus that students use very often to navigate Georgetown (the town, not the campus).
- I don’t know where he’s going that he sees the President once a month, haha. I’ve only seen Biden’s entourage (and not even Biden himself) once when I walked by the church he goes to since it’s one block away from campus. If you’re really interested in seeing him, though, you could attend the service he’s known attend and sit through a Catholic Mass with him.
What are the super exclusive clubs?
@@lightyagami5760 The Corp (the student-run business), GUASFCU (the student credit union), Blue and Grey (organizes tours for campus visitors), and certain pre-professional clubs- especially consulting clubs. Also, The Hoya (main student news publication) can be hard to get into depending on what role you want: it’s easy to be a writer for the guide section from what I’ve heard, but applying to be an editor is very difficult. I’ve also heard that the Eating Society is hard to get into for some reason. I guess everyone wants to eat, haha.

I noticed in a lot of videos Dominique asks if they saw the president of that specific college. Maybe he answered based on that? But it does make more sense for it to be based on the actual president of the us.

The video is good, but I think it would have been a better idea for the student to show off Georgetown's beautiful campus. I don't think the roof top did the campus justice at all.
