I'm thinking about retrofitting my R-22 unit with R-421a.
*How to make a hole in a pipe (without pliers)* :
Hold your oxy torch close and keep it STILL and focused on the area (about a 1 cm away or less).. After 5 -10 seconds seconds you'll see it almost glowing.. using the tip of your nozzle.. tap/gently knock the pipe. It will blow a small hole.. The size of hole can be increased using the flame tip close to the edge of the hole.

I just came across this problem I couldn't remember the name of the access valve. 7-25-23
Is this better then a piercing valve I bet? I just added a mini split to my RV and works great but I want to get my front ac fixed. I'm sure it leaked and my buddy does HVAC and said he could fix it for me
Yeah this is better than a piercing valve less chance of leaking overtime
@@TaddyDigest nice I feel like this is bullet proofing those throw away RV units and actually making them serviceable rather then throwing them away.
Coremax Schrader cores are terrible idk why Carrier does it that way. What's your stance on them
I agree with you I do not like them eith meter they leak and I wish they would do something different they are like one of the only brands to do that
