nice review. But may want to re-scale the scoring. If all cars gets mostly 4 - 5 stars and occasional 3 starts, then we don't really need 5 starts. 3 stars should be the default/average of class, 4 should be great, 5 gotta be outstanding and given out very selectively...

I've found since 2010 that the Audi A5 has aged very well. This model is beautiful and I would say best in class. Audis of late have been reliable which other Germans cannot say. I really like the C class convertible but less storage space inside and in the truck.

Yeah, I'm having a very hard time deciding if I want to part with my 2010 S5. It still just looks so classy and handsome. That and it's a V8 and 6 speed manual, both of which virtually impossible to get anymore. Automatic V6 turbo is about all you can get below RS5.

I would to thank Mr. Sam Haymart and everyone involved in making the review videos their are informational and looks done professionally. The vehicle categories and test drives and the no non-sense, non-nerdy reviews makes the channel appear professional to me. Some of the CZcamsrs like to put an effort to making their videos and Sam Haymart was one of them. The Test driven TV channel has a nice playlist videos of cars and the Auto Show coverage. Thanks again!

Something to consider, though, is that even in Dynamic mode the A5 is set up more for comfort than sport, which is why the car isn't as eager to get up and go right off the line when compared to the S5.

I'm interested that you found the knob to not be ergonomic. I find mine to be a joy to use.
Also just FYI for anyone watching you can tune using the forward and back on the steering wheel and once you've found something you like you can press and hold one of the 1-9 buttons and with a press you can be taken from whatever input you're on to that station. Or if you put your finger on the button buy don't press it previews what that preset is. It works with satellite radio, too.
Agreed with the low-speed indecisiveness and odd choices the auto start-stop make. That and the plastic paddles are completely ridiculous at this price.

I thought the same too: I have no issue with the knob either. I also love the volume knob on the console (he did not mention). I should one day post my own observations based on actual A4 ownership because I agree with Sam on some points but really don't on some. For example agree on the low-speed indecisiveness (can be quite frustrating in certain conditions) but absolutely disagree with its overall performance evaluation; you can't base it just on his acceleration demonstration: you don't get this lag in Dynamic Sport mode combination. Sport mode also disable the automatic stop-start function. The acceleration this powertrain is capable of far exceeds the performance of my previous V6 300 HP and it really can get you in trouble by how quickly it downshifts and takes off if you are not ready for it. Performance wise this is a 5/5 * for sure. There is even a launch mode according to other owner reviews.
On the quality front, one thing no other reviewer has mentioned... The vinyl on the sun visors has to be the worst material I have ever touched in any car. Design wise they are too small, don't extend and the windshield does not have a UV band so the sun can blind you in the morning or evening. Also you can't lift the wipers off the glass (they are under the hood in the park position) when clearing the snow so you better remember to dig through many menus to rotate them 90 degrees when you park your car before a snow or ice storm otherwise you will curse the car for sure...

Good Review Sam...question..on the high speed runs you still sounded very clear...were you using the windblocker? Couldn't tell from the camera angles.

Am I the only one who thinks this thing is over-priced? 65grand usd for a 4cylinder turbo that doesn't even make anywhere near 300ponies.

Power isn't everything, some of us prefer greater fuel efficiency especially given traffic and road laws.
