    This just makes so much sense, especially your labeling system, it's ironic more teachers haven't been doing this for years! Can you do a video on how you use planning sheets with your students? Can you discuss how you think it helps with instruction, their concept development or as a tool to incorporate more literacy into art projects? Love all of your videos!

    Loved the video again! I currently also have the same grading scale, and will try the sorting idea before the recording of grades begins. I also like the idea of prepping/ labeling the absent student’s paper for next time. I actually take my clipped colored table folders which I also label by individual class) and store them directly in my grade level folder which helps to cut down on no name papers. Looking forward to your next video!

    Wow! Thanks so much. I recently thought about doing what you are actually doing about the name tags! It does work. Thanks for the confirmation. I love your organization. We will be off spring break shortly and I am definitely incorporating some of your ideas. So did youj ask the teachers to send you a class roster?.

      Glad it was helpful! I use the student information database for names. I do touch base with the classroom teachers at the start of the school year to obtain the names students actually go by (ex. Charles goes by Charlie). Our attendance secretary emails me with student arrivals and departures weekly as I teach in a transient area. I

    Thanks, Katie! Can you do a video on grading? I moved to elementary from middle and I'm still adjusting to the grading system.

      It is on the list. Any specific questions??

      @@Managingthemess the 4 pile sort was a good tip. I am used to using the LMS for kids to turn in work digitally and I grade it there with a rubric. Still trying to figure out a good solution for the younger grades.

    Where do you keep your claSs folders? Also, do you stick the labels on wet paint or on unfinished work?

    • @Managingthemess
      @Managingthemess  Před rokem

      Thank you for your question. I currently keep them on shelves in my storage closet. In the past I stored them standing up in large Rubbermaid totes. I use the labels on every paper I give students. For paintings I give out the labels shortly after they start painting before the paper is too wet. I also use labels for planning sheets, exit tickets, 3D work, etc.

    Do you wait until next class if it is wet? To label?

    • @Managingthemess

      Usually no, we label in the corner and they paint around it

    Do you use a program for your digital grade book or just excel?

      I use Google sheets. I bought a template from TPT. I’m hoping to do a video on grading soon 🙂

    Where did you say you place those labels? Was that in the back or the front?

    • @Managingthemess
      @Managingthemess  Před rokem

      As much as possible I place them on the front so they are ready for display.

    What about storing sculptures or paper mache masks?

    • @Managingthemess
      @Managingthemess  Před 25 dny

      I use the space above my cabinet or put them in big Rubbermaid totes. I’m blessed with lots of storage.
