  • In this video I show you how to build the bluetooth led controller called blueghozt. ghost lighting made the blueghozt module easy to wire up with the screw terminals for the wires.

    My question is .. if I already have a regular Bluetooth controller that has 4 outputs, can I just add more splitters to equal the 2 outputs on the blue ghost ? Or is it wired a whole different way? (Can I switch out a regular Bluetooth controller with a blue ghost controller with out significantly modifying the strips and halos)

      If your leds are addressable and make sure you use either 3 or 4 wire whichever you currently have.

    I know this is a show mode module but how do you retain turn signal, brakes, and reverse functionality when you are driving around? thats my biggest mental hurdle im currently stuck on with these controllers.

    Where do you plug in the singular 4 pin wire next to the power, to where the original tail light plug in to receive the brake, turn signal, and parking lights input?

    Can you clarify the difference between Blueghozt and Blueghozt Plus? Do I need to be using Plus to have bluetooth-activated show modes?

    • @zaccook
      @zaccook  Před 2 lety +2

      Sorry if i didn’t explain that super well!
      Blueghozt lite and plus are the exact same thing for controlling your leds (so Bluetooth controlled show, Bluetooth controlled turn/park/brake options) and they both get all of the show modes.
      The only thing that the plus model gets is 4 relays that you can control from your phone.
      This would be used if you have extra accessories you would like to have Bluetooth control over, for example led light pods.

     @Zac Cook do you need a constant power if you are not using show mode? Just running taillights can the led power come from the parker/brake light? or dose it still need a constant/ignition power

    • @zaccook
      @zaccook  Před rokem +1

      hey unfortunately the blueughozt modules do need power and ground at all times. same goes for the v5 modules they need 12v power at all times to. I wish I knew why but I do not know the technical side of it that much.

  • @logansmith2248
    @logansmith2248 Před rokem +1

    Another newbie question, are you getting power directly from the battery with the 12v to 5v adapter? If so how do the regular blinkers/brakes function?

    • @zaccook
      @zaccook  Před rokem +1

      12v to 5v converter
      And the turn signals from the car are just an input so the ghozt will do the rest of the work once they are wired up

    Would you be able to use a 5V 5A voltage regulator instead of the buck converter? The regulator is like the size of a nickel so it might save some space?

    • @zaccook
      @zaccook  Před rokem

      I personally haven't tried it so im not sure. I assume as long has its pumping out 5v volts with enough voltage to go through all of the lens then you should be good.

    • @mknight6026
      @mknight6026 Před rokem

      @@zaccook The LM338T has an adjustable voltage from 1.2-32 volts I believe. You can get them in a 5pk for $8 on Amazon. Might be worth getting some to messing around with. Could save you money in the long run especially if space is an issue. I run a 5v regulator for my sound efx board that controls my horn. I was going to use a buck converter but had 2 mini amplifiers that needed to be installed inside the dash so I went with the regulator. So far so good

    Can one controller power headlights and taillights?

    • @zaccook
      @zaccook  Před 2 lety +1

      technically yes.
      its kind of weird how you have to do it.
      so you have to daisy chain the headlights to the tail lights, then in the pixel set up tab you have to tell the app how many pixels are in the headlights (and what style there is) and then "add" another set of pixels (this time how many tail lights there are) and you have tell the module to fire those leds at the same time as the headlights and you also have to tell them to light up red for the parking lights and not white.

    • @zaccook
      @zaccook  Před 2 lety +1

      but you can control 2 blueghozt modules from the blueghozt app. so if you run 1 blueghozt from the front and 1 from the rear you can control them from the same app.
