That was fascinating. My first thought was poor young lady and I didn't think that much really could be done but the difference was amazing. Her hair looked so much better. I have Oriental Asian hair and it's just there as it pretty much does nothing. I also never knew that Japanese hair was so coarse. I learned lots of new stuff. Great video. Fabulous outcome.
I'm mixed- japanese, Korean, eskimo inuit, german, irish, african american/black, welsh, english/british, scottish and cherokee indian. My hair is a mix of japanese coarse hair with african american hair. It's a nightare especially if I go natural so I prefer my hair relaxed. It's easier to style, but mositurizing it is difficult cause my scalp needs moisture the most but my hair drinks any and all oil I use like nothing/like it's water and my scalp doesn't get the oil due to that. Severe dry scalp, breakage and shedding doesn't help either. But I can say now, the shedding and breakage isn't as bad as it used to be, and only really sheds when I wash it which I wash every 2-3 weeks otherwise it makes the dryness even worse. I hope we both find something that helps us and our hair. I learned my hair is low porosity as to why I struggle with keeping it moisturized, especially my scalp so it flakes like bad dandruff and I hate it. On another cideo I asked what this stylist recommends for me and my hair, so maybe you can ask her too to see if she can help you as well.
But the thing is she doesn’t look bald it just look like she cut her hair. When her hair grows she’s goin to have amazing beautiful lengthy hair.

When I stopped twisting and braiding my hair at night it stopped breaking. I just divide my hair in 4 puffs with loose ties and a silk bonnet.

I never heard of a blow out bar, but if it’s anything like the Dominican Hair salons then yea its not surprising that she has breakage as a result even after just one visit if she has natural type 4 hair (just speaking from experience after visiting multiple Dominican hair salons to get my natural type 4c hair done along the east coast).

2. I have tried to blow out my hair but it shrinks up in an hour. What can I do to alleviate this issue? I have been natural for 5 years now. I lost my hair due to cancer and it is about 4 inches long now.
I know how you feel because im a cancer survivor and after the disease and treatments and all the medications to help with side effects of chemo it totally changed the texture of my hair.

Heat isn't a bad thing. When heat isn't used properly is when its a problem. In this case, heat was needed in order to see where the hair is damaged and needed to be cut. Straightened hair is the best way to do that. Cutting hair in its natural state isn't ideal as you can be cutting more or less then needed.

I'm going through personal issues AND my hair. Seems like shampoo but mostly conditioner strips my hair which causes it to tangle AND EVEN WITH MY GOT MY ENDS ✂️. What is the difference between the steam flat iron, and the regular one?
I bet she did something to it when she got home because she didn’t like the length. She probably got braids. I’ve dealt with clients like that before that don’t like the healthy transition phase.
