Yes he did. I'm sick of fighters fighting on short notice in championship fights and then having an "excuse" after losing. And the truth is that it's a legitimately good reason, not an excuse.. Which makes it all the more frustrating that we're not getting the best version of both fighters. Many fans in the mma community don't really put any respect on Islam's ko win over Volk.. It's almost like that fight never happened.. And it's unfair to Islam.
Yeah, but a lot of fans who consistently hate on the Muslim fighters, so really wouldnt have made a difference to those people if Volk was made of literal metal... They would find a way to throw their shade... Islams got all the respect he needs anyway. Any more than he already gets can just b a bonus

The minority might hate on Muslim fighters but it's not an issue like you're proposing. Islam gets hate because he doesn't fight often and hasn't defended against a real 155lb fighter yet. He beat Olivera for the belt and before that his most notable win was either Dan Hooker or Bobby Green. The media tries to make him the next Khabib but he hasn't proven anything in his entire career.

He wants a full recovery and a full camp to prepare for the best P4P fighter on the planet. The question is why are the UFC pushing fighters to have quick turnarounds especially directly after a roller coaster of a media week, weight cut, gritty fight after sustaining lots of bumps, bruises and small concussions. We should want better for these guys.

Also Chael what you're missing on your last point is that those Olympic amateurs are competing on even ground with other amateurs. Arman would have to compete with a very prepared, much longer camp Islam. So of course he would not impose such a disadvantage on himself.

Stop criticizing DDP and Tsarukyan for wanting a full training camp for the biggest fight of their life. It doesn’t make you more of a badass just because you would show up on shorter notice/with a quicker turnaround. Chandler fights like a dumbass and primarily to entertain. Fans want to see the best in the world go at it while being a version of themselves that is most representative of their true capability.
In a way you could argue a fighter taking a shorter notice title fight is indicative that even at their best they are unsure that they can actually win and have a built in excuse. Of course you would have taken the fight you’ve bombed and squandered every title fight you have ever been in lmao.

Arman's 1st fight Against Islam was on a short notice also being Arman's UFC Debut. I think he made right choice imo! He needs a full camp when he fought Legend Olivera most his training was on the ground now he can get back to freestyle wrestling and adding a few more weapons and be ready for war with Dagestani Gangsta
