I know that Jennifer and Latoya had beautiful, powerful voices, but there was no one like Fantasia. She tried out for Dream Girls, and it made JH a star and very well deserved. But I would love to have seen Fantasia get the part.

From what I remember, Paula got a manicure at a shop and they did not use clean and sterile tools on her so she got a nail infection. Really seriously bad to where they thought she might lose the finger. So thankfully it didn't get so bad that they needed to amputate it.

She got to audiences with real emotion, unusual movements, huge smile, warm and fun personality, and the feeling that her life had not been easy. She used that energy and experiences in her singing. The finale when she won, was epic. You could see and hear the way the audience and the judges were blown away. It was enormously emotional, as well as celebratory. It was so Fantasia to say “I broke my heel!” 😂 which she had.
