- My friend Andy and I headed out to Plenty Gorge to ride a new mountain bike trail called Case of Spades. Andy worked on his jumping game and I pushed mine to new heights, sending my biggest jump ever.

Yes been waiting for you to hit the new trails for ages and I’m proud of you I’ve been riding that trail every weekend since it was built and I still don’t have the guts or skill to hit some of them
Thanks buddy. You’ll get there. I spent quite a bit of time in my youth doing jumps and I’m on a big enduro bike which gives me lots of confidence. Just stick at it

Awesome to see locals enjoying home-made tracks. Makes me think there should be lots more flow & jump trails nearer to the city for youngsters. Plenty Gorge is a pretty long way out. Bike sales have apparently gone through the roof with Covid-19 restricting gatherings, local councils should get behind building more bike trails. Seems like every time I go for a ride around the Yarra-trails I find another bunch of kids building jumps & berms lol
Yep it definitely seems to be trending at the moment! Agree there should be more places like Quarry Park for the youngsters, and not so young!

I usually watch on my TV, so usually only like the videos.... but gotta say Hamish, your qaulity style of editing with the slow mo shots seeing the suspension work over the jumps and bumps is a really cool touch to the vlogs. Great work mate. I did 44klms other day from Black Rock to the cranes Pt Melbourne and back.... working that cardio lol and them legs haha....

Long and Winding, yeah dude, Good old Christchurch with the over priced bike park! NZs great for a holiday, you’ll love it. But don’t stay, day to day living in Melbourne is much better. I really miss the Gorge and Hans loop, my old local trails.

My mate hit the big one when it was like 1 day old and he fully nose cases it and flew otb you can see where they are making the landing bigger to make the gap smaller(I think it already is). That’s probs because of him

Some of it has been there for ages and has been upgraded. Other stuff is pretty new. Maybe built in the last few months
@@longandwinding Serves me right for not exploring the Gorge properly the handful of times I've been. It's a maze in there.
@@Candesce it's a total maze for sure. 100kms of ever-expanding single track. It took me dozens of rides there to know all the trails

Bro my guy goes to the gorge and is to scared to do the doubles at the bottom and then finally builds up the confidence to do it and then describes to send the 40 ft jump cause he feels he did a good job like wtf fricken sender 😂

Yeah was good. Especially for something so close to the CBD.
Just a shame for the waisted footage I finished up with trying to use a gopro chesty mount for the day. (Have a look at my last upload when u have a second) lol.
@@rideupright ah you just need to get the angle of the mount correct. If you have an 8 you probably don't need a gimbal to start with. Just make sure you get the angle of the cam pointing level and forward when you're ON the bike

@@longandwinding yeah the moonbooter it was alright the lip was a bit big and i came in to fast, i didn't land it but good fun there is a vid of it on the case of spades Instagram story
40 footer is different compared to this. Never knew it was like that. The landing now is not that good and there Is no jump after it. My friend stacked 40 Coz it's not as good as before. Btw he is an alien he hits everything without thinking.
