  • We have all been bombarded by advertisements for products that promise less wrinkles, clear skin, and shiny thick hair. So, does the hype ever live up to the results? Attendees of July’s AgingWell will hear from Dermatologist, Lindsay Strowd, MD, with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist on some of the most common myths as well as debunking unrealistic claims while sharing practical things that we can all do to ensure that our skin and hair is healthy.
Have you been craving a tropical getaway? This month’s EatingWell segment will give you that tropical feeling without having to pack your bags! Executive Chef and Partner John Tharpe of The Spotted Cow Steakhouse, located on Trade Street in downtown Winston-Salem will demonstrate how he creates one of their most popular dishes, Mahi Mahi with Pineapple Salsa, and as a special treat the restaurant’s mixologist Brad Pruette, will show us how to make two of their signature summer cocktails, Elderflower Lemon Dropand Midnight Old Fashioned.
The Arboretum and Gardens at Tanglewood Park is a beautiful, hidden gem tucked away in Tanglewood in Clemmons, NC. We will join Leslie Rose, an Extension Agent with Cooperative Extension with Forsyth County, as she takes us on a personal tour of some of the different sections that showcase some of the extraordinary plants, flowers, shrubs and trees that flourish throughout our area. By visiting these gardens, you can preview plants that you may be thinking of adding to your home garden, get ideas of plants that are lovely while also attracting pollinators, and the perfect solutions for the shady parts of your yard!
