    VIDEO DESCRIPTION
    How to draw one point perspective linear perspective drawing: This drawing tutorial provides drawing tips and a basic introduction to understanding the fundamental principles of one point perspective linear perspective. We will discuss how to do a linear perspective drawing in one point ( 1-point,1 point, one-point ) perspective
    This can help set the foundation for drawing a house, tunnel, birds eye view, aerial view, room, building, street, city, background, etc. using linear perspective

I have always struggled and been intimated by perspective, because of math. You sir, are a very fine teacher! You are articulate, and have thought of everything a learner would want to know. Thank you🌹

    When Filippo Brunelleschi figured this out in 1413 it changed everything, architecture, engineering, art, the whole world. The birth of the renaissance, and everything since is because of this insight on perspective. I can only imagine how it must have felt to be the one with this epiphany . Great job Alphonso, 5 years to the day.

    awesome ! :) i can't wait to see the rest of the perspective tutorials :) I managed to understand 1 and 2 points perspective, 3 is a bit harder but i'm working on it ! But the biggest struggle I get is because each scenery/urban sketch that I try to draw (I'm an architect so i really want to practice this...), I get totally confused because all the objects are not parallel ! So I end up messing up and my drawings always look weird xD.

    Omg I just discovered your channel and I fell in love ! I LOVE THE WAY YOU TEACH YOU MAKE IT SO CLEAR ! Cant wait for the other parts ! And perspective is a tough subject , and Im just asking myself , are we using these techniques to draw scenery and landscapes ? (1pt , 2pt and 3pt ) or its just working for building, street , city etc .. ? Cause Im struggling hard ! I know we have to get the fundamentals , and when it comes to landscapes drawings I just dont know where to start , where to find the inspiration etc ! Just don't know how to do ! I'd be really happy if you'd do a video in depth on landscapes, inspiration and perspective in it ! I know you already did , but I dont know how to use perspective in it !

    @shader26 Před 4 lety

    As always, great tutorial Alphonso, but one thing...beginners like me have a hard time, and almost never see videos that teach how you would show NON parallel lines in perspective, vanishing point. Say in the picture you did on the right, if one building was curved. Or if say a wall is wavy instead of straight. I particularly had a problem with drawing a cabin for example, because it had two rood sections, one “normal” and another jutting down from the side at a much larger angle. That angle “breaks” the vanishing point, I can’t follow the parallel line vanish point because it is angled. If that makes sense.

    Alphonso -- where is the light source in the bird's view? I'm sure it's the sun. At times it might be directly overhead but if it is coming from, for example, the right, wouldn't the core shadow be on the left sides of the four upper right-most buildings? The light source would switch sides twice a day?

    What I don't understand is how master artists are able to draw a wrong shaped object (say, a cube that's distorted and gives an impression of perspective when there's none) and it will look exactly the way they wanted to show it. A wrong shaped vase or a house with a flat roof that has a slight angle. Or a person who actually has one hand shorter. They're like "I mean it, it was like this!" and I believe...
    The voice of Alphonso, the voice of inspirational background. ^__^

      lol Not at all...good questions..The benefit of having multiple perspectives is primarily to allow you to more complex, dynamic and interesting spaces. You can explore a building or house in a more comprehensive way, so you're not limited to just showing one side and showing it straight-on, you can show a house from multiple point-of-views. Hope this helped

    How do you know when to use 1 point versus 2 point or even 3 point? I feel like 1 point is only for when you want the drawing to look like you're looking down a tunnel, and 3 point is only when you want to look down on things from a bird's eye view. I feel like I'm making assumptions that are hindering my growth.

    what makes my brain hurt is that this assumes that all objects are neatly aligned in a grid. for example, if all the furniture in a room are facing the same way, this works fine. but lets say i rotate the table 30 degrees. now all of a sudden i cant use the same vanishing point for the table as for the other furniture, or it would make the table look diamond shaped (assuming it was square to start with). how to fix this problem? or am i wrong?

      You're right, but its not as difficult as you think. Sometimes the appearance of them converging is all you need and not necessarily them converging literally
