A Godfather takes on the role of parent after the parent dies. This man performed his job and you are so appreciative and willing to turn your kid over to someone knowing nothing about his background. What does he get out of this relationship other than accepting responsibility for someone he does not know.

I'm sure it's a symbolic title for him. Just to have a connection to the baby he helped deliver, but legally I'm sure the baby would go to a relative if something happened to the mom.
Only if no living biological relatives will take the child. Which is extremely rare.
This is amazing!! This story is so inspiring and that police operator did amazing in that situation. I can’t imagine what it would be like to be in that situation. The police operator should deserve an award for how calmly he handled that. He did a great job making sure everyone was healthy and safe.
@award. Without being dismissal of what he did.. He said he’s done quite a few of those, this being different that it was done by the highway.. but i guess dispatchers generally get to do this.. how well? depends on their experience, training, the situation at hand and their own personality.. they do become pros
