  • There's only so much you can do with a career, and when it was time for Joe Torre to hang it up there was no mistaking he had done all he can.

    He was the all-star catcher with the Braves when I started following baseball. He's still a favorite of mine.

    He got screwed by the Cardinals when he managed there between 1991-95. The team was still owned by AB. Gussie died in 89 and August IV had no interest in the team and let it flounder. Bill Dewitt and his partners took ownership in Dec. 95 and hired Tony LaRussa, Joe went to the Yankees and the rest is history. He gets a lot of respect in St. Louis.

    In 08 you guys should have won the world series no way in hell you would have won it in 09 with the Phillies pithing staff c'mon now dodgers fan here I'm just a real one. 08 was the better team, especially the pitching and Manny being Manny f*cking A lol crazy time when they got Manny from the Sox. Lol L.A went nuts after that trade.
