Well the writers seemed to want to go in a different direction and this could've been a retcon. Maybe rewriting that Stumpy was just special because this series was supposed to be a direct sequel to the first movie, ignoring the rest that came afterwards. Pretty dumb in my opinion. It's starting to annoy me how often writers decide to just ignore previous works simply because they don't want to follow continuity or want to try something that doesn't fit in the established lore. Even though with this franchise they can try something new and chalk it up to evolution or different variant at this point. It's the one thing that makes me a little glad it was cancelled. Just little because despite it all this trailer looks fucking amazing and they did seem to capture what the originals did very well between the mix of horror and comedy.

And for canceling a continuation of the first series I mean I'm still curious about all the other mutations that are made in the hidden laboratory underneath the ground and what's the deal about that key that those criminals are after which also includes what happened to el Blanco so that it fits in with the timeline of the movies

I’m incredibly Sad that this got cancelled, it looked great! And it seemed like it would be kinda like a western, but it literally got cancelled! And Kevin bacon looked amazing in it! This trailer looked like regular old straight to video mess. The director couldn't even bother to remember that the graboids DO think and strategize, and Kevin Bacon's character "Valentine" even mentioned it directly when they dug a trap for the CAT to fall into. The car, in this trailer, poking out of the ground looks completely ridiculous how it's coming out of the ground. Don't be fooled into what's great just because a favorite actor shows up in the trailers. This seems like it was just gonna do the same old thing over again.
Kevin Bacon you missed out on a lot. There were shriekers, ass blasters, grabbers, graboids that swim, graboids in the snow, and Burt was something else. He shot a shrieker with a very long name gun, he used a f*cking turret against a bunch others, he got SWALLOWED by a graboid, he killed a graboid queen, and even used a f*cking flamethrower. Heck, he even had a son that he didn't know about (we don't talk about him).

The idea of this seemed interesting and I would have loved having Val back, but I wouldn’t have wanted to watch a new series that just ignored everything that happened with Tremors after the first movie. Regardless of how silly the movies and tv show got, it all happened and I wouldn’t have wanted a new series to ignore that.
