The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel czcams.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.

I've been fortunate to charter fish several times in the last 8 years. Red snapper are the most fun to catch! Skip black sea bass, the mackerel aren't very impressive either. Caught a skip jack that put up a good fight and benita are kinda fun too. I'd like to go Marlin fishing, but the charters I was looking at require you to go way way out there and spend the night on the boat.
i’ve never been deep sea fishing, but fishing grass flats with minnows for schools of spanish macks is incredibly fun. And they taste great too!

It really doesn't cost much. My biggest expense would be finding an ocean and traveling to it..
I had a coworker go fishing on a vacation and it was $60 for half day of fishing in the ocean

@@mweb.974 nope it was 100% a mantaray blue short tail no stinger long pointy things near the mouth where its eyes are
manta rays eat plankton. They don’t eat baitfish or other baits like chunks of meat. I was maybe a leapord ray?

This episode reminds me of anocean charter trip my wife and I took years ago. We took our ass gear on boat.once we started fishing, she and I were pulling in 4-5times the number of fish the other anglers were catching. We were having so much fun the captain came down w his own light gear and joined us. End of the day we came in with full sacks of johnnybass,rock cod and etc. Sore arms and big smiles for a great trip

Those red snapper are delicious and so much fun to catch. I bet it felt like Moby Dick on that bass rod. There are a bunch of guys up here who make sweeper jigs like that and we use them for Togs all the time in Maryland
Took my bass fishing gear offshore saltwater fishing as well last summer! The peeps I was with made fun of it, but I limited out on flounder. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks of these things

The first shark I even caught was a 6 ft 150 lb sandbar shark, we went to Destin, Florida to go fishing for king and Spanish mackerel. We had one hell of a time!

so ive gotten rockfish useing my slx rod and reel combo with swimbiats in 50-100ft of water it works good and is really fun!

Come out to the NW, head to Astoria and do some sturgeon fishing. You would have to workout before trying that though. They will kick your butt and you will feel it later.

Last time that happened, I got spooled 4 times in one day…
I came back a year or two later and managed to catch a 5 1/2 foot tarpon. Their power is unmatched and if you want a long, hard fight, a Tarpon is the way to go.

I’ve gone on a charter and we went fishing with me and my friend and his father we caught a little 80 pound nurse shark which I thought was huge compared to my freshwater fish and we also hooked a tarpon that we lost and then within the last couple of minutes we hooked up to a 250 pound nurse shark that took forty minutes to reel in and was nine feet long that has been my on fish
Whoops forgot to mention that we had to take turns because of how big the 250 was

I am probably going to the us late summer / autumn, and literally all i want to do there is catch a bass and some other ones like bluegill, id love to catch new species since we dont have any of that in sweden, and it seems very fun to catch, Do you know a spot thats guaranteed to catch some of those?? i am a very skilled fisherman but when it comes to new species it can be difficult :D And as ive said all the time, ur still the best fishing youtuber.
