Feel so proud. to hear my mother's name :N Kalyani! She was the first lady vet in India along with Sakubhai. And my mother was valedictorian. She did not practice after her marriage, but was a devoted housewife. My elder sister, Mina Anand is a lawyer and my younger brother, Parameswaran Iyer led the Swatch Bharat movement and made rural India open defecation free. I am Indira Jayaraman, an ITF tennis player,and a long distance runner. My mother gave us her love for music, sports and studies.
Just great to hear my mother's name...N.Kalyani, first lady Vet in India, along with Sakhubai. Amma was also a top athlete, and a champion tennis player. Played tennis for Queen Mary's College, Chennai. A wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, Kalyani was full of life; an avid reader, music lover, and news buff. We miss her dearly.
