  • Today I'm going to show you how to Propagate Syngonium Podophyllum Albo Variegata.
    Also known as the Arrowhead vine or Arrowhead plant.
    The good news is they are super easy to propagate and so if you’re new to taking cuttings or you're nervous about attempting propagation don’t be I’m going to show you step by step exactly - When - Where + How to do it..
    First off when should you take cuttings, well that depends, if you live in a part of the world where it's warm all year round then it’s probably not as important but if you live in a climate where it gets cold in winter then you need to do this only in the growing season so spring to late summer. The reason why is that you need the plant to be actively growing, in the cold winter months the plant goes dormant and doesn’t grow so it won’t be able to get the new root and leaf growth that you need unless you put them in an environment with grow light and heat and humidity in which case you can grow and prop all year round. So it’s only about whether the plant is actively growing or not.

    Hi Andy, just came across your channel now as I have recently caught the bug for keeping house plants. I would love to be considered to receive one of your cuttings and to watch it grow out, I am in Edinburgh 🤞 Keep up the great videos!

    .. Ohh Andy, I would love to have a cutting from you 🌞🤗 but I guess that living in Denmark wouldn't make it very possible?? 😳😥 By the way you are my best choice when there's something I need to know.. Your way of explaining things are so simple and easy to understand, besides, you never make a big deal out of anything, you just tell it like it is.. Thank you ever so much for that ☘️🇮🇪🌞🤗

      That's so nice of you to say! Thank you! Yes, Denmark could be tricky with customs and such. Hopefully, I can figure out a way to include non-UK viewers in the future. In the meantime thank you again for watching!

    I have a albo syngonium and bunt some leaves :( didn't realize how bright my old office was on a sunny day. Question being can I grow from stem without a leaf if there is an aerial root?

    • @HouseplantHacks
      @HouseplantHacks  Před rokem

      Potentially yes, if you have an areal root it means you have a leaf node there which is essential, so if there is enough energy in the stem it may put out some more roots and eventually grow some new leaves, but it's not guaranteed so lets hope it does ok.

    Hi just wanted to know do you add plant food /fertilizer to the propagating water?

    • @HouseplantHacks
      @HouseplantHacks  Před rokem

      Cuttings don't need food until fully rooted and activley growing. No need to add anything at that stage.

    Very useful video. Great! Thank you so much! It's only that could be shorter to few minutes. It was kinda too slow. But if you stick to the end, there are quality information and very professional. Just much too long for my taste.
