    Interesting never heard of it. Don Taylor one of the pilots was Steve McQueens pal who played in Bullitt and other movies years later.

      @@marilyn3583 He was talking about the hydraulic rams and cables pictured below decks. Those are what the arresting cables are attached to that stop the planes on deck. The catapults are steam powered.

      NPN : Anyone can land and takeoff on a 12000 foot runway. Of course I am partial since I was a member of the Blue Angels in the mid 70’s. Both teams are good and put on a great show.

      @@rodherrick9217 - Ha. The number of MiGs killed by F-14's, I think 6? The number killed by U.S. F-15's alone, 37 or so. No contest. ;-)
