You could always build a hotel or wear house near your train station with your storage and crafting tables to take up the space between town and your train.

FYI, IF you are going to connect all of your tracks together, all of you will need to have the tacks using the same direction of travel or the tracks will not connect. It will be difficult if you do not use one section of track to set all the others. Also, it is impossible to make a dead end loop.

I guess you wouldn't need to make a loop as such just a run off like they do with cargo trains, then just reverse them on to the main line, with how expensive it is you'd probably only want to expend just 6/7 tracks to keep the train out, maybe make it a barn that it goes into would be pretty cool

I had a doedic somehow spawn inside my base and it had been wandering around for days, and before a dino wipe I made sure to tame it and set it to wander inside the base :)

You and the boys should do a collaborative video. Like a 2v2 resource grind to help grind the tracks. Build 2 identical central crafting stations, and whoever builds the most tracks winner takes all the tracks to build with. It would be a good reason to seek and bread farming dinos.
last time i saw boys get together on this game, they uncovered how corrupt it is, and then proceeded to buy everything they released after, can't say good things come from that idea lolol

None surprisingly it's the oasisaur that gets ya
i have 100+ hrs with just the trains. i have built a rail system over half the map and back to make a loop. they are one of the funest things i played with in ark. when driving, no dino agros, you can just ride and chill checking out dinoâs. build a clay farm on one of the cars and a industal forge on a car. place gen in third car to get full power on all cars.
22:12 I don't know Syntac.... my train I built had all the plants and rocks removed but they respawned blocking my train from moving forward.... check into that. đą unless they patched that the train tracks weren't counting as an item in the game that could block respawning.
Just a quick fix is fence foundations around those spawn areas or change the distance things can spawn next to structures.
5:25 syntac you needa download the âcheaper trainsâ mod all it does is reduce the cost of the tracks and I think the actual train parts too by half. I would also assume on pc you might be able to tweak it in the INI settings altho donât quote me on that last part.

I think it would be super cool to make a stock yards next to your train that can be your breeding area. Stock yards were very common at train stations since cattle train was so big
If you think the tracks are expensive then you could talk to the boys about the cheaper tracks mod. Just makes the tracks a bit more affordable and maybe you guys would like it
if you are staying with a western theme, you should try to build a stagecoach. with a riding bench to sit on to direct your tame. should be fun

Try for a D track at each station so each persons personal train can be in the outer part of the D while parked but still allow others to follow the straight mainline.

Idk what your rules/feelings on mods are, but I HIGHLY recommend âcheaper trainsâ, it halves the cost which I like because itâs still an invest but not insanely so.
You could do restrooms in the middle of the platform to break it up, canât wait to see it done! Keep up the great content!
I love the train so far. My father, R.I.P, was a railroader. He helped build and repair tracks. So this is personally my favorite build of yours. I know you say you don't like doing building videos much but I don't mind it really. You always have great builds that you try to make creative and unique. Get that train rolling! So want to see this finished product.

Im obsesed with this series and i think its becuase i never got to play scorched on ase because when i purchased it it gave me no dlcs so i never got to play all the cool maps, also love your vids đ
trains running on charcoal makes sense from a real world standpoint, but oil would make more sense form a gameplay perspective. With scorched having oil pumps and not much use for large amounts of oil, oil would be a perfect fuel source
Just an idea but maybe build a water tower and a coal depo on that platform for your train, kinda help with details and realism

When Syntac 'discovers' that you can only have one engine on a track and that one tribe's train can't run on another tribe's track.
And... different tribe's track cant connect to another tribe's track.
Trains are really only for single player.
Maybe you already do this but little tip for getting metal.
If you find metal structures in drops you can destroy them for the materials.

Almost done with the semester, too, and then finally I can take a break (first proper one since the first weekend of the semester). I wonât rant about it, but just really glad to have these vids for when I can take a short break around lunch and after a full day of work.
It's always good to have your train at full length ready to go.

I've been watching your channel for 3 years now!
I believe train platforms in those days were lower to the actual track and ppl climbed up to the cars by walking up steps to enter the trains, hence the term âclimb aboard!!â. You are building them closer to how current trains and stations work which might be where the issue lies.
Depends on the station, the country involved, that sort of stuff; As usual, there were exceptions even at the time.
Hey Syntac, I did make a big railway. it reached from around the position your base is at, to the wyvern trench and then to the colloseum, back to my base. I don't have the save anymore since it corrupted but I never did allat in survival since that wouldve been around 600k metal or something. maybe more

Have two rails side by side so you have your private rail then a visitor rail at your base.

@Syntac Hey man I love the videos, I also get a really good laugh in when you get jumped by Microraptors. One of the most infuriating things in ark. With that said there is a mod you might want to check out. Anti-Dismount Potion. It was specifically made just because the maker HATES microraptors.

Just a suggestion; mark the guys' bases on the map. Itll make it SO much easier to plot out where the tracks are going.

You may be able to add a railing and snap ceilings to the top of them, to make the platform more flush with the train, I donât know if this still works but it did in ASE

Ah imagine if stone structures on Scorched had the same color and texture as the train track foundation.
24:27 i have about 100 hrs just with the trains. i built a full rail system to all our admin bases and server owners base. they are one way tracks. so no matter how you build it it has to be a loop or you are stuck going backwards. i also build small turn outs for us to pass each other.
So, you could build forges and a smithy on one of the cars, load up the Anky and Agent Travis and harvest metal and other materials while you are building tracks for the train, on the train as you travel the route that you build.

I have dreams of building a railroad that circles the entire map.
I was thinking... Are you going to have to build bridges as well? I doubt it will be flat terrain all the way getting to the other guys. Lot of work but very rewarding. You remind me of the Transcontinental Railroad people of the 1800's. Placing a rail line through very rugged country.
I play on Single Player and I just completed placing the rails. It goes from where you said Jim's base is to the backside of Green Ob, to your base and back. It has been a lot of work but it looks good. I am working on pillars and trying to make it look a lot better.

I might have used ceilings coming off the pillars instead of foundations. Would save on resources and mightâve been level with the railings.
The map should have an option to show topography. That would really help in planning out the tracks.

you could just reduce train size to half, and remove some ceilings to test if train comes near platfrom without any issue. You should also move forges on top of the train cart to avoid going back and forth for carts and tracks

Youâre gonna need a a separate rail line, an engine and box car.
Gather up all the pegos and microraptors and put them in the box car.
Then bring them out to the camp at the end of the rail lineâŠ.

Trains should use oil, sparkpowder, and charcoal. Maybe even have a boiler that needs to be filled with water.
been working on my railroad for a week now it goes from one end of the map to the other and I shudder at the amount of materials I've spent. On the upside, my train has only used 50 charcoal total so they are super efficient.
You better have several bases, all with the basic things you need to live and then connect your railroad all around the map.
It only took them 12 years but they finally added something to do in pve other than fight bosses
and you have to buy it, after buying the game a second time
The Monarky server has a massive railway on it
Foundation support tip, you can have 2 ceilings out from each foundation, so you can make a snake of foundations, leaving 4 empty spaces inbetween. Will save you a lot of foundations in the long run.
It's 3 actually but use the spacing you suggested. You'll run into issues with certain structures otherwise. Looking at you dino gates.
The tracks ARE damn expensive. I have 4 forges placed on various mountains behind Red Ob smelting all the time..

Hey love the vids. Just an idea you can make a cart or 2 of just vaults so you have a rail system that goes near a major metal spawn . Bring your argy and anky to overtime collect vaults full of raw metal and then hual all of it back to ur base and have a racer or some Dino transfer metal back in forth to ur forge area
You've probably already thought of this, but please add an Undertaker's shop to your town, decorated with the new coffins at different prices đ
