The baby hyaena's melee was higher due to the parents' taming efficiency not being 100%. Obviously getting 100% for a hyaenodon is impossible unless you boost taming to the point it's tamed with one petting.
Use the frontier skin on a painting canvas to mimic a mirror look. :)

11:58 Yeah, that is typical ARK. When you are looking for (insert high level dino here) you don't find any for hours, but when you are NOT looking for it you end up finding it.

If you watch back to this specific section you can see there's like a river of just clouds between the valleys. That in itself is just mind-blowingly gorgeous

The "rounding up" is caused by the reduced bonus from imperfect taming. Babies get the same bonus as a 100% effectiveness tame, so that's why they get higher than what the parents have, even when the parents are kibble tamed (which is still usually only like 99% effectiveness).
Make a bakery, breed a hyaenadon to look like cupcake, sell cupcakes at the bakery

The reason the baby gets higher melee, is because of the bonus they get to melee based on taming effectiveness.
A baby is treated as getting 100% effectiveness (without increasing levels) while the parents are whatever they tamed at.

Syntac your new guard dogs fit in procoptodon pouches and will attack and harvest corpses from there too. I've enjoyed meat running with my imprinted roo and low level Hyaenadon

For the Fasalo - if you haven't already gone for it - I really, really, really, recommend scouting out the salt deposits in the dunes ahead of time and marking them, as you've already experienced the pain first hand of settling for rocks. It won't completely stop the jank moments of getting kicked off (because of course not) but it'll cut down on them enough to prevent an aneurysm.

If stamina is a concern when flying, it's worth noting that you go further if you're not sprinting. It takes a lot longer but you can get a lot of distance without too much effort.

You should name the Hyena male “Don Hye” and the female “Don Ina” and then the give the children new first names and last names based on their gender
I have had that too, when breeding my dire wolves and my sabers, the dire wolfs melee was rounded up by one point, but My sabretooth was rounded up by like 30 points or something. Like the highest parents melee was 147 and it was rounded up to 174, with no mutations.
Syntac you better make a cryo fridge because if you lose your Fasolasuchus in the cryo pod then you’ll be extra frustrated
The attacking your target command works to a certain distance from the dino. I’m not sure how far it goes, but if you are too far away or you shooting to a distant target, dinos won’t attack...
Usually I find Hyaenodons along the river in the middle of the map. On my server I built near Axe's area, and I constantly get "attacked" by these guys.
Can’t wait for transfers to open for SE. With Hyenodons being able to have wild babies now, the Gigantoraptor can tame high levels easily. Hyenodons are my least favorite thing to tame under the Megachelon. They are such a pain without a trap and are so easy to scare.
I think the name Meatball would be perfect for a hayena.
Fyi. Turning on Movement speed won't affect wild tames. They still get 0 in Movement when tamed. You simply have the option to lvl it if desired.
I've noticed that you usually don't make your tame poop when you are resting for stamina. Pooping makes your tames regenerate stamina very fast, so it's usually a good idea to at least try when time is scarce.
You should put some horses “tied” to some posts around the town.

23:07 I imagine this is because of stat affinity. It got the higher melee stat combined with the higher version of one of the others to make it a higher base level thus improving its stat affinity slightly. Still seems like a pretty large jump though.
We love you Syntac❤️ These guys may be slow, but they make great hunters and guardians, and I love watching you go pack hunting so much.

The reason the melee increased with the baby hyeanadon is because the stats for tamed creatures is based somewhat on their taming effectiveness and a bred creatures have a taming effectiveness of 100% causing the "rounding" on most creature when they are tamed at greater than 99% but much more noticeable on creatures where taming effectiveness is lower thus the bigger jump in the baby hyeanadons

I love the female Hyneadon with the white belly. That looks really cool.
1 x 1 trap with a double door and make the walls out of railings so you can just reach through to give them good boy pats if you aggro then your safe and you can just back away.
Also since you asked i usually get my hyaenadon in the mountains around blue ob. Dont forget hyaenadon get a pack bonus and self heal when dealing damage.

depending on how much you will use the trains, you might need some short split off ways every now and then, so you can make way.
then again, you can only really go one way, if you not want to drive backwards. definitly need a place to get the train off the main track when not used tho.
about the drops, i found 4 spots so far. and it seems like if not collected for a while, one of them respawns immediatly if you back off a few meters.
I find them a lot at the tall cliffs most of the time especially near green or red on I think

I experienced the exact same thing few months ago. Bred Hyaenodons have much higher DPS stats for some reason

When you have speed leveling turned on wild and tamed Dino’s still don’t get points in movement speed. I’ve had it on since release since I can’t live without the imprint speed buff.

I think the round up has to do with the 4 levels you lost in taming effectiveness. I frequently get offspring that makes up the difference in stats that the parent lost in taming effectiveness.

You asked where is a good place to find hyaenodons and I was just about to comment "south of the artifact cave in the mountains" then you cut head to the exact place I was thinking about as you found a 150 female. Its actually a great area for a lot of tames and the main reason I built my base around there.
Wish the train tracks weren't so high off the ground. Was there a reason to suspend it so high in the air? I know the terrain sometimes doesn't let it... but alot of that distance looked flat enough.
Hyenas/Hyenadons are from the cat side of the evolutionary family tree.
ive turned on movement speed leveling on my single player saves and play on servers with it on and no wild point are going into move speed there.
Should chainsaw a bunch of Joshua Trees (shaggy trees) for wood and sap. A good chainsaw is OP on scorched
have a pack of these (tamed from claiming babies) following my Mammoth for protection. They wreck everything. haven't met an alpha rex yet though.

Bonus: hyenadons are not even closely related to hyenas and are not even Carnivorans
I found tons of hyena around the water, mainly the large area where the water meets.
I think turrets can kill creatures in your claws, I can’t remember if you put the creature down or if there were in your claws, but in ark callubus a turret killed the creature you wanted to tame
There is a button up on top right the looks like 2 squares by each other to help restack your food/items
You could probably change follow distance so your pack is closer

I have the opposite luck with desert drops on series X. I looted the 3 of them about 10 hours ago in played time. They have yet to respawn.
