I live in Schaumburg and have been going there for the last 13 years. It is absolutely the best. I always get the ribs (center cut). I can't wait to go back !
When I used to live in the Chi we used to walk to Lem's (We didn't care what the name was at the time so I just found out via this video) It was the very best BBQ Rib Tips in the Whole city! There is nothing like walking up to that Thick plexiglass ordering and watching them Chop the Tips up. Back then they had like a lil Mop head they used to slap that Mild Sauce on! One of my Very Fav Childhood and Teenage memories!! Can't wait to Hit my South Side and Pig Out!!
I went to the same location on 59th and State Street in the 60s and 70s. My grandmother would bring home rib tips after work on Fridays. I am no longer living in Chicago but I hope to visit again because I miss those Lem's rib tps!!
Eating Lems as I'm typing this. Mannnnnnn these rib tips are BOMB. the place is so clean and staff is very friendly. Got a large bucket. Going back tomorrow before I fly home to Atlanta. My husband's family is known for barbecue (Veasley Family) and he is sitting here killing these tips. I told him we gotta let his family know they have some competition 🤣🤣🤣
I love my grandma BBQ sauce too and as a kid I thought it was thin and always wished it was a little thicker but I just live the taste and learned to appreciate it for what it was 🥰
The first chance I get, Lem's will be the first stop on my trip. They look like they do it right! This coming from a Northern born yet Southern raised kid. :D
I use to live on the south side of Chicago with my grandma when I was 13, great pizza and BBQ ribs, and steaks now at 53 I'm stuck here in Thailand, food here is great and all, but there ain't nothing like that here.
*Um the food and flavor out of this world on all these videos shown BBQ joints after dark just one thing that has me, the counter bullet proof on the turn around purchase's of each sale! Hey I lived in Oak Park but born in NYC!*
Lem's has the best ribs ever! (from the area but live in DC now we have nothing) get the rack 'dipped'. quality of the meat has gotten better over the years...
I had lem's before, it was just plain nasty that water down sour kool-aid sauce, rib tips was shredded meat look like a plate full of scrap and those stank AS$ attitudes from this place is beyond rude i dont believe nothing most chicagoans tell me when it comes to taste buds

The Best. As a teenager I would walk there. I'm 66 years old & live on the East Coast. Great memories

Have you ever tried Tony Luke's cheesesteaks yet? I live in Pennsylvania and haven't tried them.

I like this style of bbq. The competition style that is so popular these days doesn't do it for me.
Ribs & rib tips look a lot nicer in an aquarium than pet fish, lol
