The cylindrical standing area and wider pull down stands seems to be an excellent design to me. I would guess it's really strong and your stance is much more natural making it more comfortable to ride.
I agree
Now that's getting better. The red light that illuminates the rider is a brilliant idea and must be compulsory. Add indicators somehow and I'd be happy that I'd see the person from a large vehicle. Love the fact that it stands up when folded, that's genius! Great video folks, hope you enjoyed your trip. 👍
Thanks for your thoughts, we agree that the rear light is a game changer for visibility. We’ve thought about indicators, but making it work for people of all sizes and shapes is pretty difficult. The biggest difference is that it’s like riding a bike- with a stable ride position, you can get by without indicators.
@@ridetaur I don't know if they exist but I think what we need for cyclists and scooters is "wrist winkers" (say that carefully or you're in all sorts of trouble!) that you could strap on your arms to enhance a hand signal with a flashing orange light. Maybe provide those with the scooter, might be a good sales gimmick. Probably want to revise the name though 😅🤣
Very similar to the “PURE” about to launch in Australia.
Hydraulic brake on the rear, with a cable clearly sticking out 😂😂
Yeap. Typical American technology. LOL. I just hope it's gonna be put together better than their Tesla cars and nothing will fall away during ride, especially these foot rests.
I fitted cable operated hydraulic brakes on my recumbent bicycle. They are a thing. The hydraulics are within the unit itself.
Not quite, but we completely understand where you’re coming from!
The caliper is hydraulic which improves braking performance and squeezes the brake pads from both sides for better longevity. Hope not to disappoint you, most people don't enjoy bleeding hydraulic brake lines :)
Cable-operated hydraulic brakes are indeed a thing.
I upgraded one of my eBikes with them. They're a good middle ground between fully hydraulic and cable brakes.
In my case it allowed me to improve braking performance quite a bit without replacing the whole system.
Taur marketing team working hard. I'm surprised it's actually coming out. Been waiting since 2020.
⚡👀⚡
*Nice change of scenery innit* 🤙🏼
such a unique lookin escoot
As an EuC rider that sometimes doesn't want to gear up to go run an errand, this is perfect.
Definitely getting one…been waiting on this for the longest. It’s very sturdy
That meme when he talk about frame girth 😅
Seriously useful scooter. I could definitely use that for my commute. 🙂
500W a bit small for me. Mine is 2 x 1500W and I would like still more power. Perfect for my kids though. I've got a 2 x 3000W on order. Because I scoot.
This mans going full infomercial mode
Excellent content!
Was the camera operator using a PEV as well? OneWheel?
The shadow at 13:57 gave a good hint
Very entertaining - great work Electroheads!
That back lighting is genius
Like the lighting on this at the back lighting the rider but it does need indicators in my view for its inevitable next iteration. Be interesting to see how well taur does with that riding position. Perhaps see what an EUC rider makes of it electroheads?
Another cool escooter would be the Pure Advance, Pure Advance+ and most importantly if portability is your thing, Pure Advanced Flex. Reminds me of this one quite a bit.
One major concern I have with E-scooters is their hill climbing ability;
bought a 500w 12'' wheel one previously, couldn't climb a 10% hill with an 85kg rider...
Not all scooters are designed the same. Many of them have higher torque. This one was never climbing hills on the video so I would assume it has bad torque unless you can prove otherwise.
Electric Scooter Guide's video (czcams.com/video/UcrBhr1w24g/video.html) says it can do just under 8mph on 10% grade (skip to 6:02), which isn't amazing, but isn't terrible either.
@@ricky4673 Torque is defined by the motor, controller, and the battery - all wheels aren’t created equal :) Keep an eye on our future content and hopefully we’ll be able to put your concerns to rest.
I love this scooter would have been good to have indecators. I certainly think it would be much better if it had folding handlebars, it has fold up footplates to make it narrow but handlebars stand out, when carrying it handlebars sticking out behind you easy to hit someone with it, would be better for packaging for posting, and better in narrow hallways or in vehicles
Hi, thanks for the video! Is this Taur V1?
i have those tires(except bigger ofcourse) on my bicycle. great tires. i don't think i have had a tire puncture after i switched to those tires and i use my bicycle alot.
The design is genius somehow. Not too long but tough. This is most impressive
Great video!
Great video again.🐱
Similar to the Berryboard for my M365 Pro, it gives me a wider stance. Definitely makes it more safer and comfortable to ride. Can add an extra passenger with ease
I've seen videos on this scooter before.
I'm not a fan of that folding mechanism. I think this looks like a scary thing if it breaks down. The tyres are nice - I'm a fan of 10+ inch tires - the bigger the better. The highlighting mechanism is awesome tho, I really think that should be a thing on every scooter.
Certainly an interesting design and something I would like to ride at least once to see the stance difference, but I don't think I would buy it.
It's a bit like the Japanese, Glafit X - scooter that I was watching on the funding site a couple of years ago that had large wheels and small side by side footplates but not folding, not sure if it went into production
Thank you for this comment. I Googled the Glafit X and this e-scooter now goes under its new name of LOM X-Scooter 😂
Someone did a couple of lines before shooting and it sure as hell wasn't Eilis or Kol. 😂
2:39 “and hydraulic brake in the back” *shows cable actuated brakes*
It be nice to buy one but I'm on ssdi and am 65 yrs and use it go to my heart doctors appointments in downtown Columbus, Ohio.
I’ve STILL not been able to pre-order as their website isn’t working for pre-orders. So weird.
Not sure how well the scooter would cope with the hills and rain of South Wales if they ever make them road legal here but Eilish was looking extra lovely in the Californian sun on this one.
Electric Scooter Guide's video (czcams.com/video/UcrBhr1w24g/video.html) says it can do just under 8mph on 10% grade (skip to 6:02). Not sure how steep of hills your specific path requires.
He's comments about uk law and people is so true finally someone talking some real sense e scooter talk scooter looks brilliant but needs to be faster for me
24mph is pretty quick for one of these, isn't it? In the UK that is well above the e-bike limit so it seems unlikely that if they legalise them, they'll let the limit be higher. Although we can dream that the e-bike will go up to 25mph assisted and these would be allowed at 15 I suppose.
It's possible to geo-fence these things as well. I've been told that the test ones in Portsmouth power down if you drive them into certain zones and at that point you can carry them, or use them as a kick scooter. Unverified by myself but it comes from a trustworthy source.
product development everytown shuld have one of the TAURS
that's perfect speed for that area
Scooters are road legal in the UK… if you rent them. If you want your own the po po will track you down, confiscate the scooter, fine you and put points on your driving license 😁👍
Wonder if it's so they can track you. In America I can honestly say that these bikers get away with so much crime. Can't catch them and they just zoom away with their loot.
I don't fear a carjacking so much anymore. It's the damn homeless bikers.
@@ricky4673 that’s a good point.
@@ricky4673 I agree with the crime aspect but usually when there is a corrupted government in charge of legislation. They use this and many other negative points to their advantage. For decades in the UK we have a serial code or unique identification number on bicycles for insurance purposes or even just reporting it lost or stolen. There's no category as of yet for e-scooters. Technically the e-scooter needs a push before the throttle takes over. This is usually the same for electric bicycles as a safety feature set by the manufacturer. (Zero start is set to off by default by the manufacturers)
So close to pulling the trigger on this, but not sure it's wise as a first e scooter!
For me the new Pure Advance e scooter is the much better choice for the U.K. similar but much better features, the handlebars fold making it much better for storage especially when carrying it in crowded spaces , you car trunk and storing in narrow hallways etc. Plus's for me I would have been concerned where the Taur frame folded I would be worried every time I went over a bump it would collapse. If you like the Taur check out the Pure Advance and much cheeper
But the PURE advance is slower weaker motor compare to Taur scooter.
@@zztop7000 when e scooters are legalized in the u.k they will almost certainly be restricted to 500 watts and a maximum speed of 15.5 mph. Same as the rental scooters
Hope that scooters and electric bikes come with bells to let pedesrtians know you are there!
👍🏽just pre-Ordered one
i just want the continental tire not the scooter
@@hedgehog1684 yeah i hear that, I canceled my order 2 weeks ago, this scooter is selling for $1500 I thought about it and said hell nah, to expensive for this gimmick 😂
@@JerseyStyle7 I ordered one 2days ago... but I have changed my mind.
I tried to cancel but they do not respond to any e-mails, or social media messages. Do you have any contact number? or anything.
I'm beginning to think it's a scam.
@@sillygoose9070 read comments, I canceled over 11 months ago
If the rear brake is hydraulic why is there a cable operating it?
Someone said it I had a hydraulic on the rear it looks like a brake cable to me looks ok go I think my pure 350 wattage will probably give it a good run for its money as the pure air go is on it way to do 12 miles I'll get 12 miles in high gear don't like foot pegs on this scooter invideo it looks good
I like Eilis!
That guy nearly knocked over two pedestrians on a zebra crossing - tut tut.
It would have been good to see them do a big hill but otherwise nice review.
Is it me or does it have a short wheelbase? And twice the price of a Nine-bot Segway? Not that it matters as I can't see e-scooters becoming legal in the UK anytime soon.
How much is it? I cant find the price
@@recursion. $1495
Physics wise, 80-90 degrees is still is the safest riding position calculating the sum of the average forces of vectors acting on the scooter.
I ride with the right foot forward (reference foot) pointing where I am going so that I know where my scooter is pointing when I do a shoulder check, and the left foot facing out perpendicular to the other and is the one responsible for managing the effect of forward momentum kickback and wobble for efficient and safe turning at higher speeds. Oh physics.
This could pass as a non e-scooter. I'm an EUC rider trying to get an e-scooter past security, ha-ha. I bought a kick scooter but it's not really what I wanted to do.
That is a bad stance on a scooter good way to go over the handlebar but i guess if you only going 25 max and its a cable brake hydraulic.
This is great going to work save money on gas sick of gas prices going up!
Cable routing along the stem is a shame, this should be internal for sure.
6:04 "the rental scheme sphere is not as good as what we thought it might have been" No, it was foolish to think the rental schemes would actually speed up regulation. Anyone with any political awareness in the UK would know the government would drag their feet. We all know why, not facing that specific issue is the reason why regulation takes longer. Electroheads have done some incredible videos in the past acknowledging all sides of the escooter debate in the UK, that's what escooter enthusiasts need in the UK. Not a new electric car that costs 40x more or a tour of LA.
Trowan!
At 2:41 he says it’s got hydraulic brakes, that sure looks like a wire pulling on a lever.
In Argentina you can ride a horse, or a grocery cart on the roads, so no issues with any electrical scooter or the likes. 👍
PD: sadly, no. I am not kidding.
Where is the indicators and the horn? 😕😕
Website says it has a loud horn, but they didn't show it here, or in ESG...
I may have missed it but it feels like not all the features were covered. For instance, why does it have two flaps on either side of it, rather than the usual platform? Is there any way you can get a zoom call with him and go through some of the design decisions and features?
Our fold up platforms make it much easier to carry and store. The biggest perk is being able to have a wide stance without needing a larger scooter.
@@ridetaur thanks for checking the comments and answering that - I'm guessing I wasn't the only one wondering :)
I hope it goes well and that Parliament lets me actually use one of my own before I'm so old I can't even stand up :D
Lloyd Groseman vibe
That thing looks like a safety hazard, considering you want to have one foot ahead of the other, to avoid being thrown over the handlebars while breaking
My electric scooter it is road legal in the UK, I have a number plate and my Insurance (BikeSure ) said it's ok if it has a seat, So I am insured and on the road. Police have not stopped me yet
That sounds like a moped though? The undecided legal area is what look like kick scooters but have electric motors. They're dragging their feet over passing legislation and the scooter rental pilot schemes were basically a way to test whether or not they're safe.
E-bikes are limited to 15.5mph assisted speed (you can cycle faster if you're fit enough but the motor can't push you faster). Mopeds cap out at 28mph, after that it's a motorbike and I suspect you have to wear a helmet with a moped (probably not a bicycle helmet, a full motorbike one).
@@jonevansauthor I've still seen plenty of people riding around on non hire scooters in one of the test cities! They risk losing their scooter but it seems the police were only stopping people pre roll out. The hire ones in Liverpool are orange, i see black ones every day cruising around on streets.
@@bluenose7984 yes, lots of people have been breaking the law and the police don't have time to catch them all and frankly, there are bigger villains in the UK. However, it's well documented that they've nicked quite a few people, and you risk fines and losing the scooter etc etc.
I think it's inevitable that they'll legalise them, I'm just hoping it doesn't come with punitive nonsense (it must only go 5mph and how dare you ride it on cycle paths or bridleways or in pedestrianised precincts etc etc etc).
People are convinced they're death machines. Of course, heart attacks aren't real, and the danger of not getting out and about isn't a factor. Just imagined risk from gory accidents. *sighs*
It’s a cable activated brake.
Nice scooter but the video not so good. It was like a paid advertisement for the company and the TopGear format just did not work for me. I don’t know I just got such a fake feeling from this one.
Please be aware of scams where reply’s have information to call them or txt them. I received a scam attempt on this comment.
Thats not a proper hydraulic brake, its a cable operated hydraulic brake like the XTECH HB100, I have them on one of my ebikes and they are nowhere near as good as proper hydraulic brakes, they require adjustment as the cable still stretches over time.
Well spotted! I think you’ll agree with us, that most people have no interest in bleeding hydraulic brakes :) Hope you’re enjoying your HB100!
Click bait title thought it was “road legal UK” but it ain’t! 😂
No-one commenting on how thirsty they get whenever Eilish is on screen? No? Guess I'm that guy, then.
She know she drop .
Looks like a very basic scooter. In the price range of £1200 it doesn’t stack on paper with the competition. Varla eagle one gives you double the speed, more range, real suspension, adjustable neck, the tires are compatible with many other electric scooters and these things break and the varla shares parts with many other scooters since it’s made by the factory titan. It probably is a great scooter and something that many people will go for but the price worries me
Nice Chinese version 👌 😋
I thought its in UK :(
Yes, Venice does look like Skegness.
My skewter has a therapurtic value i give it an A plus ♥️💧🍉🍅🍎🥭🍍🍌🍋🍐🍏🍈🍌🍍🍚🍜🏁🏴🚩🎌🏳️
That would be so dangerous to fall off, personnaly I don't think the design is good looking either, it reminds me of an apple product. I prefer scooter that look like sport machine, for example the kaabo mantis line. If it's not looking like a sport motorcycle/car it's not for me.
Not many British girls are that good looking, and her teeth are white, so that is a rare plus!!!
25mph with a side to side stance + cabled disk break+ no suspension, doesn't sound a good combination to me 🤕
Ride safe. Ride wise. Ride smart. No worries.
Worst stand on scooters and that carpet for the shoes is all worst off the scooter ,yust gloo skate dack and upgrade him that you can ride it normal .
I ordered one of these by mistake (online while drunk😬)..
I tried to cancel the next day but
THIS COMPANY DOES NOT RESPOND TO ANY COMMUNICATION. Big red flag!
They took my money... then silence.
Anybody know how to contact this 'Carson Brown' ?
Have you ever watched any scooter riding tips or instructional videos?
Kick or stand up scooters are nothing lije riding a motorcycle. You are standing not sitting and that completely changes how you balance yourself on a scooter.
You might have compared it to alpine skiing but that is incorrect as well.
Riding a scooter is directly aligned with skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding. In all cases the feet are in a fore aft stance as they are and should be on a scooter.
This scooter is not an euc either. Thst to is avery different riding dynamic and balancing situation.
Since you dont know or need to be reminded every riding tip video warns against standing with your feet side by side because it is so dangerous. Youvare also taught that in surfing lessons.
Since you dont know or forgot the fore aft foot position is necessary to effectively use your legs to resist acceleration, braking and steering forces.
You can not do that effectively feet side by side and that is why scooter decks are designed as they are.
The larger wheels and tires are an excellent improvement over standard scooters. More efficient, bigger contact patch so good on that.
This design is an attempt to be novel and get some attention. Maybe on low power mundane last mile commutes it wont be a problem.
Its certainly not a game changer or an industry design disrupter. Its just some engineers and people with no experience in the industry trying to be different to get noticed.
Soon enough they will introduce conventional models too.
Freedom units??? 😵
“Road legal scooter!”
Proceeds to never take it on a road.
Well, to be fair, he was in LA. I wouldn't take any vehicle on their roads if I could avoid it, the place is a nightmare. I'd wait until the robots take over and the drivers are thus safe. ;)
@@jonevansauthor The whole point is that it’s “road legal” though. If the scooter isn’t safe to be on a road in Malibu then it isn’t safe to be on the street in New York or London. Also, there’s no such thing as a “road legal” scooter in the US. Not a single state has legal regulations for scooters or e-scooters.
@@afcgeo882 I'm sure the scooter is safe. I'm saying the drivers aren't. The roads aren't. I mean, even the traffic laws are inherently unsafe because they're not restricting scooters apparently...
For a test, I wouldn't take one on a public road, unless I'd done a lot of riding on it, and really knew that area well. I wouldn't cycle somewhere unfamiliar in the UK without checking it out carefully first, either.
Where I'm from, 15mph is the limit for pedestrian trails. That scooter would be ticketed even if your traveling under 15.
@@ricky4673 Why would you be ticketed if you’re under the speed limit? For what law? Also, they’re on a dedicated bike path, not a pedestrian trail.
Please ride scooters responsibly, it’s fast becoming a sidewalk hazard.
Looks TERRIFIC. Just missing DIRECTIONALS!
Nice design. Still illegal. Meh. If I’m getting nicked it will be on a Onewheel. :-)
Just ride around disguised as a "diverse person of ethnicity" who is involved in grooming gangs in and around Northern England. You will not have any need to fear Police interference...
Shrot :)
Oh great: now you have TWO presenters whose voices are like fingernails down blackboards. Eilis has improved out of sight, but tiSh and now this guy make you want to stab your eardrums with a rusty spike.
Amazing looking piece of kit - I want one!
The very obvious lack of eye-contact on the part of Carson

Cool video editing, but just very cringey video comment/review of the scooter. Hope you improve and mature!
Wtf u wer too close to pedestrians at speed not good
Just copied the pure scooter in the UK
Good and questionable things with this scootypod
Do not ever buy a scooter that forces you to place your feet side by side. That foot position on a scooter with such a short stem will eventually throw you off head first. There is nothing safer about this irresponsible design.
No wheelie, no like.
It’s got a crap name there’s better scooters out there
Just too excited Tyler. I can’t stand this American presentation crap. Folded “is that even a word?” Oh good more vocal genius from the Divided States.
