  • Join us on this adventure through the beautiful country of Vietnam. We are going on a 32+ hour train ride from Hanoi all the way down to Ho Chi Minh City. We will also be riding in one of only four VIP first class sleeper cabins on the whole train! Was it everything we were hoping it would be? Do we think it was worth the cost? We'll fill you in on all of our thoughts before the end of the video! :)

    The real problems with trains in Vietnam, is not comfortableness, but the loud passengers and constant stopping. Just to give you an idea, from Ha Noi to Sai Gon, the train will go through about a hundred stations, and stop at major ones which is 20 of them, that means each 1-2 hours it will stop completely for a few minutes to drop off or pick up people, and in that process it will get loud and really chaotic. So if you're planning to travel by trains, I recommend bringing some ear plugs, the good ones, to plug in at night.

      Fly economy class on any airline and their bathrooms are not much better than the ones on Vietnam's trains. If a bathroom on a train is your threshold for not taking a trip then you better never travel to India because that whole country smells like s**t, LOL.

    Yeah 3-in-1 and 2-in-1 coffee is normal in south east asia. Toilet culture is a bit different in asia compared to the west and japan. Eg in malaysia many use bidet or bum pump, secondary is toilet tissue(muslims use left hand). There are 2 types of toilets as well, the western wc and the squat type. But i understand that in taiwan, you cannot flush the toilet paper along with poo, instead you dump it into a bin(i find that disgusting). Coz the hole is so small the system can get stuck. The reason why asian prefer squat is the western ones has a seat. We think it is not clean to sit on it.

      @ShannonxAaron  Před rokem +1

      Hi there! We did not get food on the train but we also did not pay that much for our tickets. We saw another couple do this train ride and they did seem to get food so maybe the $220 includes it. I'm not sure but I feel like they would have all of those details on the website

    • @duongnhdn
      @duongnhdn Před rokem

      I think most trains include food in the tickets, not sure why these guys didnt get any food. But even if they dont, there is one food car on each train so you can go there and get some hot food, and once in a while some employees will push food and drink carts up and down the train like you saw in the video.

    I don’t know how you guys can put up with 32 hours + on the Vietnam rattler :)) First class Vietnamese is different 💯 % that western first class 😂
    I took a sleeping cabin on train from Hanoi to Lau Cai once which i really enjoyed.
    Another time I planned a train ride from Hanoi to Dong Ha but got off at 5/6 cities in between. So When I moved to the next city I would buy a ticket at each station for the next stage. I I didn’t like the city I would move on.. so much fun.
    This way I got to experience the culture at each city.. Vinh was great and that’s where Uncle Ho was born - a little trivia 😊🫢
    Enjoy Saigon it’s also a great bustling city 🙏🏻

    The train is not the best mode of transportation in VN , especially for a long journey from North to South . You better take the luxury bus that you could stop at different spots to rest and check-out the area . In case you are on hurry , so take the plane then . Never ever travel by train in VN

    • @ShannonxAaron
      @ShannonxAaron  Před 2 lety +8

      Honestly, we kind of disagree here. The train was a wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime experience that we definitely recommend other people check out. However, the next time we are in VN we plan on checking out the busses as well so that we can get a different experience and can check out more of the country as well. Thank you so much for watching!
