I wish there are actions in the game that triggers lore videos like this. Makes for a more immersive gameplay. People would actually continue playing a long campaign
From my short experience with Nobunaga's Ambition at least, it might have the opposite effect. Instead of playing and winning the game I instead focus on getting the cutscenes, which is more of a chore than I'd personally like in the long run.

I know that Fantasy and 40k are totally seperate but a video comparing Grimgor and Ghazkull would be awesome to find out which one proves to be the orkiest ork in all of orkdom.
Ghazkull is mechanically modified, and 40k Orks are even bigger and stronger than fantasy Greenskins, because Greenskins don't have the whole "power of imagination" and genetic modification bullshit - they're just big dumb orcs. Pointless comparison.
You could do this with a lot of Fantasy and 40k characters. Archaon and Abaddon, Malekith and Asdrubael Vect, Settra and Szarekh, Franz and Guilliman, the list goes on.
I love these videos. Nothing else comes close, it truly feels like watching a (better done) history channel video from some particular event from the past. Really cool.

I clicked this video to learn more about the lore of what's going on in this game. Good lord I didn't expect anything this epic. I love 40k but never got into the fantasy stuff much and had no idea it was this awesome.

I think we will! The idea for version 2.0 of this Lore guide is to have Chaos Dwarfs and/or any other new race that CA releases. Plus extended versions of the Chaos Gods sections.
This was really helpful, as a warhammer 40k fanboy i've not tapped into much of the fantasy lore, but always loved the TW Warhammer games. Also, the difference between CA's art and "true" Warhammer art is still the same core concept.. The best Warhammer art, looks like historical paintings of a very old age. I love that.

There's no way to make a game like this without the possibility of alternate endings (i.e. No End Times). I hope this is something embraced by GW. Although I don't think the End Times were real anyway, I think both AoS and 40k are pocket universes created in line with the Old One's great plan, the Slann and the Great Elf mages. I like the idea that our own world is just something created by mages in the Warhammer world (which is the ultimate reality).

Settra and the tomb kinda are my favorite faction. They are so cool as is there lore but tbh…I’m scared 😅 the southlands have so many factions there. Honestly I was kinda annoyed that they put manfred right below Settra! I want to play as the tomb kings but now idk if I can win with them
Spam basic skeleton building. Tomb guard is actually a very good unit for settra, better than construct even. Get a priest and prince and your good to go.

I love seeing these vids....seeing the ancient history of the Seraphon, The Freepeoples, the Duardin, the Soulblight, The Orruks, the Gloomspite Gitz, Flesh Eater Courts (Bretonia) and the followers of Chaos is very interesting....even if that world ended. Would love to see a few more named characters show up in AOS like Vlad...would love to see Vlad in AOS.

I just started playing Total War: Warhammer III, and videos like this are invaluable! Thank you for your efforts in making this epic guide to all of the races! I won't lie, it didn't make it any easier to pick one to start out with, though! :P
I sincerely hope that the Eastern half of the map gets more fleshed out. We need us some kingdoms of Ind, snake-men of Kadesh, samurai of Nippon, steppe cavalry of the Hobgobla Khan, and more Cathay. A lot more Cathay. At the campaign level, Cathay should have a confederation mechanic similar to the Empire to represent its conflicting tendencies towards regionalism and unity. As the Romance of the Three Kingdoms said, “The empire, long united, must divide; the empire, long divided, must unite.” At the battlefield level, Cathay’s army is solid, but there’s a huge potential for specialization. For a start, there’s Zhanmadao (think single-edged greatswords), horse archers (yes, China had those too), stone guardian lions, and phoenixes/warbirds. The Sky Lantern lore already hints at the Vermillion Warbird, so I sincerely hope we see those in the open soon.
It feels like the Old races of WH1 and 2 need reworks to survive in Empire mode. The Empire and Dwarfs are usually smashed and destroyed. The Empire by being literally surrounded by enemies on all sides and the Dwarfs from doom stacks of 40unit Orks and scaven.
This was a fantastic video to watch. I kind of would have liked if you had done Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle, Slaanesh, and Undivided separately (as they technically are separate factions despite all falling under the same umbrella of "Chaos") I am grateful that CA is bringing back the mixture of beasts, daemons, and mortals for each faction as it was in the glory days of TT Chaos (Hordes of Chaos was hands down the best and most popular iteration). But that being said, this was still an amazing watch. Thanks!

Can't wait to play Ogres in immortal Empires. I'm really new to the whole Warhammer fantasy setting. I started playing Warhammer 2 little over a month ago and have been obsessed with the world since and Ogres are by far my favourite faction. We'll snack on them all!
@knight solaire I also didn't know much about the setting, only got into after game 1 came out. I've been really impressed by how deep the world lore is. Some of it isn't necessarily the best quality but overall it's up their with any of the classic DnD settings in terms of world building. You will need all three games to play immortal empires, just fyi
@@KS-PNW Warhammer Fantasy is great because it gets away from the typical/boring Tolkien style but doesn't go overboard like 40k, the Skaven and Lizardmen are fantastic concepts.
As another has said, you’ll need all 3 games (DLC and installation NOT required) to play IE. Weird corporate decision, but it is what it is. It’ll be worth it tho. You can get them when they’re on sale so as to not spend a fortune, and considering it will be a beta, you may not miss much if you need to wait a while.

I've always been fond of the 3 Elven Factions tbh. I just love their design, and they use Dragons so thats a bonus.

It feels like the Old races of WH1 and 2 need reworks to survive in Empire mode. The Empire and Dwarfs are usually smashed and destroyed. The Empire by being literally surrounded by enemies on all sides and the Dwarfs from doom stacks of 40unit Orks and scaven.
This was a fantastic video to watch. I kind of would have liked if you had done Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle, Slaanesh, and Undivided separately (as they technically are separate factions despite all falling under the same umbrella of "Chaos") I am grateful that CA is bringing back the mixture of beasts, daemons, and mortals for each faction as it was in the glory days of TT Chaos (Hordes of Chaos was hands down the best and most popular iteration). But that being said, this was still an amazing watch. Thanks!

I'm really new to the whole Warhammer fantasy setting. I started playing Warhammer 2 little over a month ago and have been obsessed with the world since and Ogres are by far my favourite faction.

@knight solaire I also didn't know much about the setting, only got into after game 1 came out. I've been really impressed by how deep the world lore is. Some of it isn't necessarily the best quality but overall it's up their with any of the classic DnD settings in terms of world building.

@@KS-PNW Warhammer Fantasy is great because it gets away from the typical/boring Tolkien style but doesn't go overboard like 40k, the Skaven and Lizardmen are fantastic concepts.
As another has said, you’ll need all 3 games (DLC and installation NOT required) to play IE. Weird corporate decision, but it is what it is. It’ll be worth it tho.
You can get them when they’re on sale so as to not spend a fortune, and considering it will be a beta, you may not miss much if you need to wait a while.
