Was that three layers of glass on the deck? Your buddy must be stout!

Yes sir! You lose a little bit of flex, but
boards are just so much more ding resistant and last longer with an extra layer, technically 50% heavier glass job! If your a super good surfer worth glassing lighter, but for most people heavier Glass jobs give you way more bang for your buck!

I’m having trouble with getting the foam saturated on the bottom lap, what should I do?

I seriously that can be one of the most frustrating parts! The easy answer is to just start mixing more resin so you have more to work with and water fall off the rails till you get better at it. For the deck of this board I laminated with 3 layers of 4 oz cloth and used 64 oz resin so I could quickly water fall the resin and not worry about it. Some guys will fold up the lap onto the deck and dump resin on the folded lap, it takes more time than water falling but doesn’t waste nearly as much resin

I’m having trouble with getting the resin to bleed through on the bottom lap, what should I do?

Are you using poly or epoxy? Epoxy is notorious for bleeding under the tape and you will get a little bit almost guaranteed at least for me. To trouble shoot 1st really push down the tape hard, easiest thing that might be causing issues. Second tip is her high quality high temp rated tape, the tape adhesive on most tapes breaks up and loses its stickiness when the resin heats up during curing and the tape doesn’t stick well letting resin leak. Gold standard is 3m 233+ tape which had that temp rating, or indasa tape, I personally really like indasa shapersupply.com/products/indasa-mty-tape-sleeve?_pos=11&_sid=91ad0cdb4&_ss=r
