  • You can reuse a floating floor if it is properly removed. Follow the manufacturers instructions for removal and your tongue and groove should still snap and lock together if you don't damage the edges.
Have you reused a vinyl floating floor?

We bought a major fixer upper in 2012 and a lot of the house was original from the 1970's. We spent 6 years saving and planning for a major home renovation. In this renovation, we gutted the kitchen, remove all carpet and flooring, painted all the brown trim in the home, sanded and painted interior and exterior doors including the louvered laundry and closet doors, changed light fixtures and outlets. The plumbing and electrical we were able to tackle ourselves with help from friends. The biggest savings was doing the floor ourselves.

Cool! Im pregnant, im just putting the floor down, but not installing properly, so good luck to the person that is taking it out and reintalling.

Thanks for this video. Are the planks still reusable if first installed on an uneven floor? I tried to install vinyl planks on my floor without leveling and now I have to remove to level. All the locking tabs seem intact, I’m more concerned if they’re warped. Thanks

There are a lot of brands of flooring so while I can't say for sure, most of them seem to be fairly flexible. I would just give it a try and if they are going together well, you should be fine. I ran into the same issue when we first started laying the floor, and we had to remove it, do some self-leveling, and then reinstall.

Where can I find the model name of the 5 year old floor?. Half of them is damaged. Company installed floor won’t tell. No any trace on the planks.

Not sure if you don't have any packaging. Are you saying you have the same floor that I was using? I was using Calibamboo Cali Vinyl Pro.

Be careful because they could be glued along the seams as I encountered in my case.

Oh dang. Yeah most of the click lock should not be glued down. Supposed to float. If it's got glue then I doubt it could be reused.

The person we got it from ripped it all out and a lot of the pieces are damaged.
