- Francis was praying on her knees in front of the kitchen stove. She prayed for a miracle for Walter, her son. Walter's problem started as an infected hangnail. The infection had spread. To save his finger, hand, and maybe his arm, Walter needed a miracle. Find out more in this episode of Paul Harvey's "The Rest of the Story."

A bumper sticker I had on my car years ago read: "Words can hit a child as hard as a fist! Stop using words that hurt."
Thank you for the story.
wish my ass hole father had read that bumper sticker
That's a good message. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
I miss him on the radio every day after school that short little story always made my day.....makes me miss better times
I agree completely. Just hearing one of his stories kept me thinking the rest of the day. :)
In 1964, he backed Mohammed Ali on the piano so that Ali could recite his poetry, about Sonny Liston, in style!!! Thanks again Paul and Brad.
That's right. Odd but amazing at the same time. :)
God's love knows no bounds. Jesus gives so many miracles. Praise Jesus!
:)
Then she should have just prayed for healing and skipped the treatment.
WOW!!! I never knew about this amazing story, Brad! What a miracle and what a comeback! Too bad he was picked on by so many. Thank you Mr Harvey and Brad. Have a blessed day!
I love to hear stories of how someone overcame something such as his miracle recovery and being picked on. I'm glad you enjoyed it, Ronnie. :)
I never knew. Amazing story. Thank you.
I'm very glad you enjoyed it. Thank you as well. :)
Hey Brad, I've been watching (and sub'd), to your videos for awhile. I've watched several of your older vids, and most of your more current vids, and I'm always impressed with the care and attention to detail you impart. I absolutely LOVE your current style with "the REST of the rest of the story"-- you always find that perfect harmony of relevance and history to hook our interests and imagination. Stunning! The flamboyant Liberace, with his glittery, studded suits with tails, and his mirror-speckled Grand Piano was a great story for Paul Harvey-- and you filled in the rest... The Rest of the Rest of the story"! Thank you, sir, for all you do! Keep 'em comin', Brad!
Thank you very much for the kind words. I absolutely love researching Mr. Harvey's broadcasts. I never know where they will lead me. I could live 100 lives and not learn all that I would like to know. Thank you again. :)

A 1000 Lives is not enough to learn all that one wants to learn ! 🤗
@@SweetChicagoGator I agree completely. :)
I was lucky enough to see him perform live as a school trip in High School in the 1970's. It was an unforgettable show. He was so warm and funny with the audience. An ultimate showman.
I would've loved to have seen him and hear him speak live. I bet that was wonderful. :)
Always be nice and kind and never quick to judge someone. 💟
You're absolutely right. :)
he got Elvis to wear capes in his show. they were the best of friends
Is that right? I had no idea. Wow. :)
I didn't know that either. pretty cool.
I used to listen to Paul Harvey when I was young back in the early 80s.lunch was always interesting listening to this man. I remember him introducing the fake sugar.
And now the rest of the story.
Wow. Fake sugar. I don't remember that one. :)
no not sure about the world today but i love the stories and Mr. Harvey thank you Brad
I agree. Our world seems to be heading in the wrong direction. I am hopeful for the future. Thank you, Howard. :)
Ok, great video. I heard sticks and stones...... I have also heard, and I like this better, "If you want friends, you have to be a friend." It seems Mr. Liberace had lots of friends, that didn't care how other people felt about him. I hope they were supportive when he needed it. On another note, how about a story of Brad Dison working for Wayne Newton? That seems to be an interesting one.
Thank you, about the video. Wayne Newton was a good person to work for. My mom and brother also worked for him. Maybe I'll do a story about that one day soon. :)
@@BradDison I hope so.
I found that story to be quite fascinating and I do appreciate the faith he and his mother had in our heavenly Father. I also appreciate that he was who he was, never made false pretenses. I will confess that I was not so much a fan, as I was much more into Victor Borge. I'm glad he was able to laugh at his naysayers and rise to such fame with his undeniable popularity. Critics be damned!
I've never listened to much by Victor Borge. I'll have to take a listen. I enjoyed watching him because of his flashy style. I didn't really understand it because I was so young. I just accepted that it was a part of show business. Floyd Cramer was my favorite though. Sorry, Lee. :)
Words keep hating inside us. When the bruise fades away, the broken bone heals, and the damaged torn muscle mends, a line of specific words continues to damage for a lifetime. Hastening the tongue is an art that can save anothers lifetime of quiet pain.
You're right about that. Words are so powerful. :)
Thanks for that….loved the background story and your words supporting kindness- 🥰
I'm very glad you enjoyed it. :)
As always my friend if you are ok with that, this was a most enlightening story on yet another great person I had the fortunate pleasure of growing up with. The gems you shared with us definitely deepen my understanding of him. Knowing the kind of person he genuinely was makes me appreciate his talents even more so. Thanks again Brad for your hard work in researching these wonderful stories. You are bringing history to life
I’m glad you enjoyed it. :)
Great stories.
I'm glad you are enjoying them. :)
i did not see that coming
He certainly could tell a story, couldn't he? :)
only thing that truly matters is what we choose to do with Jesus
You got that right. :)
9:11 He didn't say, "I'm _laughing_ all the way to the bank..."
He said, "I'm _weeping_ all the way to the bank."
He probably said that as well. The newspaper articles I used as my sources said he was "laughing all the way to the bank." Either way, the meaning is the same. :)
God gives us ways to heal and remedies and sometimes miracles.
I think you're right. :)
I wish my brother George was there.
For your sake, so do I. Did you lose him in a similar fashion? God bless you, my friend. :)
".. teens hated him.." As a preteen and through my teens, my mother loved to watch his performances while I and my siblings couldn't stand him. He was talented, but none of us had much appreciation for piano players, probably due to the horrible timing and excessive loudness of our church's piano player.
She was convinced that her imminent discovery and Stardom -- was right around the corner...
(😮 she suk't before people were saying that)
Anyway, lacking an appreciation for his talent, we of course, focused on his "weirdness." We were too young to know anything about the "effeminate" or what was called "homosexuality" before it became "gay." He was just !Weird! and something was just plain "!WRONG!" about him -- Men just didn't talk or act "that way."
Our responses/revulsion weren't learned, it was a purely natural reaction coming from our limited experience with -- normal -- Midwestern people.
Instinct? Insight? Who knows?
But our reactions had nothing to do with our romantic insecurities...
I remember being fascinated by his piano playing from an early age. I liked to watch him perform just to see how crazy it would be. I had no clue about his sexual preference at the time--I was really young--but I enjoyed watching him play. My favorite was Floyd Cramer though. Sorry, Liberace. :)
If you missed Paul Harvey youfukin missed IT
Hahahaha. I agree. :)
PS The kid in the bathing suit (silver color, caution green 💚 color stripes) did they find her. The suitcase was in a swamp area on federal property on a dirty road. People littered along the road. Now, if other children are litter, where will I find other litter.
Sincerely
I called before to see if you wanted to look at the suit case before I threw it away. Why send People to the same places? Children, leave prison, I am tired of you and me being targeted.
I don't know how to respond to your comment.
What did you wear at arrival to autopsy?
I'm not sure what you mean. Please explain. :)
