  • I hope you enjoy this video of a very nice revolver. This is the first trip to the range with this brand new firearm. I enjoy .22lr's and especially a high quality one, which this is. Thank you for watching, I really appreciate the views and feel free to like, comment or subscribe.... more videos to come.

    My favorite model 22 LR 10 round revolver. The Ruger GP100 22 LR.

    The soot builds up after a lot of rounds. Makes it harder ejecting empties. It is a beautiful revolver. Love mine and though pawned I am paying the storage fee every month till I can pay off the loan against it. I will do that!!!

    I bought this instead of a S&W 617 because of the half-lug barrel at 5.5 inches. Not too short or too long. And balances better and not muzzle-heavy.

    I’ve decided to get this gun over the smith. I like the single lug look It’s a beauty.

      And the Ruger has three points of support while the S&W 617 only has two points of support. A tighter lock up than the other one. And the semi-lug barrel is better than a full under-lug of the S&W 617. The 5.5 inch barrel balances nice on that GP100 frame. Nice!

    I own the same gun in the. 357 and you couldn't twist my arm hard enough to buy it!!! I think I paid $175 at a gun show, (25) years ago! Runs just as smooth as a brand new one still, today! Love the gun!!

    I just traded mine up to a SW model 19 357. So I bought the SP101 22lr 8 shot, much smaller frame. The GP100 is just too large a frame for a 22in my opinion. I still love Rugers.

    I love wheelguns and that is the prettiest one I have ever seen. All the flutes and notches on the cylinder are especially beautiful. I have a .357 GP100 which is a joy to shoot but it gets expensive.

      I hope you're not using premium copper jacketed hollow points for target practice. Reload your own to make it even cheaper to shoot. You'll find reloading can be as much fun as shooting it. The fun part is, you have control of how hot the casings are, and you never have to worry about if the gun can take the punishment or not. It's built like a tank and will do that hands down.

      @@DisHammerhand , I hear you! As soon as you can afford it, get a reloader, and use super Lube to clean it. Great stuff and you can buy it at most auto parts stores.

    Dark Hollow, lube your GP with lubricant from a blue can called Super Lube. Made by both gunk and liquid wrench, it is the best lubricant out there. I freed up some rusted shut sliding tandems under a Nebraska Special that NOONE could get to slide. When you clean your weapon, it's also the last thing you squirt it up with before you put it away. You will never have a problem with your trigger pull or your hammer mechanism if you do that.

      Ruger must be having a hard time keeping up with demand. It's been out of stock everywhere for months and months. I can't wait to get one of these! I have a 10/22 on order as well; been waiting just under 8 weeks. Ruger's been busy!!

    You say "This gun can shoot better than this" From what I've seen at ranges everyone says that. It's the "Shooter" not the gun.

    i would change the springs until you dont have any light strikes. that DA is horrible on your fingers after pulling it a LOT

    • @Mike-up6go
      @Mike-up6go Před 3 lety +1

      Yes I agree the double action pull is horrendous. My Smith 617 is smooth as butter double action and the single action is very very light. I still enjoy shooting the Ruger but after double action shooting the Ruger my oh my can I notice the difference between the two. Nice gun but not as refined as the Smith 617. If I could only keep one the Ruger would go without a doubt.

    does this gun have a jingle noise when just moving it in your hand? me and my father noticed the bar that pushes the shells out moves around a lot.. is this just how the gun is or do you think ours is defective?

    • @darkhollow5167
      @darkhollow5167  Před 7 lety +3

      The gun is at my fathers now, but from memory the only noise/rattle you can hear if shaking the gun etc... is the transfer bar safety below the hammer which is normal for a revolver that has one. I don't recall the shell ejector making any noise. Ruger typically has great customer service. If concerned you can call and speak to someone.
