Obviously a competent rider, you weren't taking any silly risks, just caught out by a cold tyre on a (speaking from lots of experience) very cold track!! Happens to us all! The camber on that hairpin has to be ridden/driven to be appreciated! Glad you weren't seriously injured, hopefully the bike wasn't to bad either 👍🏼
Every track day I’ve been to at Knockhill there has been a low side or high side at the hairpin. I see you were in 3rd gear. The pros up there recommend 2nd so you take the high side risk out. I always thought it was a 1st gear corner.
Each year I say to myself get a track day booked with my MT10, then I talk myself out of it for fear of damaging my bike. Guess your vid doesn't help but hope you were ok and the bike not too badly damaged. TC looks like it was set to 2 so proves it's not going to save you in certain situations.
@@balazsrepasi8035 Ok thanks for the response. Years ago I had a highside and broke my wrist. I'm looking to start riding tracks again with traction control this time and am curious how good the bikes have gotten
My rear tire lost traction, so wasnt in line with the front wheel anymore. Then regain traction and wanted to get back in line with the front, as an effect shoot me out. Made a few mistakes i think (my tire wasnt warm enough, could kept more to the left just before the turn, could seat out a bit more of the bike in the turn to keep it upright and have more traction. Well learned.
Balazs Repasi hey man, same identical situation here in Italy14 days ago with my xsr900 (with continental tck70) , now I have 6 ribs and collarbone broken. Cheers
I was quiet lucky then, nothing broke, came into work the next day. I was on painkillers for a few days though. I hit my head cant remember a few sec in the accident. Must have lost consciousness for a few sec.

Couldn’t disagree more with the first part-lots of lessons to learn here and now eight months later I bet he can explain them best for us.

Maybe a little adding throttle and lean angle? Hard to be sure...
Ooooft.
Duh
What was the damage cost
Thankfully was just a few hundreds. Nothing major. That not including the protecting gear what need to be replaced.
Yikes, happened pretty quick!
Did you have traction control on?
Yes I have TC2, if you watch the video carefully you can see it flashing in some corners.

Why?

Adding lean angle + throttle at the same time + bad BP. Keep taking it to the track! This will be a distant memory!
Also crashed my MT a few weeks ago :-(
