    Thank you Simeon Perron for pointing out the new Node 2021 version does have 2 features this does not: high pass filter and HDMI ARC. (Node 2i also had the high pass).

    I am currently using the Arylic Up2stream Pro V3 raw circuit board. This thing is a hobbyists dream. I added a digital out card for it and it works great! They also sell a power supply for four of these DIY cards for multizone on the cheap. Their stuff is an answer to a question that everybody is asking. Thanks for the great review.

    Maybe worth mentioning that the Arylic S50+ decodes hi-res files but can only play back CD quality. I owned one for a short time when it first came out but recently purchased the Bluesound Node (2021). In my setup, I could hear a difference between the two, but it was not great. I found the bass control with the Node more to my liking. Imaging and sound stage were similar. Gapless is a bit of a pain with the Arylic but certainly not a deal breaker. I agree with the review in that it's a great deal for the price. Hi-res and MQA is a bit overrated anyway. A good remastering in my view has a higher quality effect with recordings.

    Correction, the Blue Sound Node has a remote control but it’s an expensive optional extra, it’s very nice and modern looking and has 10 presets along with usual controls.

    I had a feeling this thing sounds good, I have the new node and I enjoy it,Two big features that the node as that I don’t think this does is high pass filter and HDMIE arc. Those two features are just too important to me, important enough where I can’t use a deck unfortunately because you could only send full range through the digital outs

      Yeah, I tried it on my 2i, it was cool but just made my speakers sound a little thin. I guess it could help with some speakers that don't have good bass or have too much bass maybe.

    I’m really curious about the A50+. I’m looking for a simple 2ch amp to connect from a TV to two speakers for my dad. Ideally it would have arc so the volume could be operated by the tv remote but I guess that isn’t required when jumping in price from the Arylic to the Bluesound or Sonos as those would be the next two “cheap” options. What are your thoughts on a cheap 2ch amp?

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  Před 3 lety

      Hey Rock! The Arylic is an awesome option, I've been using an A50 in my bedroom for about a year now. The A50+ has optical input so you can use that from the TV to the amp and it has more than enough power for TV volumes. One way to keep the volume control on the TV is to use bluetooth but every time I've done that with any amp/TV combo I get lip sync issues so I really recommend using the optical cable and just accepting you'll have 2 remotes. At $179 I think the A50+ is a fantastic option. Upping the budget to $300 gets you ARC via something like the Yamaha RX-V385, I don't have any experience with that unit but Yamahas cheap stuff is usually decent :).

    Nemo…THANKS for this! You may have covered this…not sure…Question: How did The Arylic (using its internal DAC), compare in sound quality to using the Arylic just as a streamer thru the Denafripps DAC?
    (I am still drooling over your monoblocs and am considering buying a pair to replace my 40+ year old Carver C-500 250wpc@8ohms that is still kicking a§§ with the original capacitors 😯…GOD if I could just hear a comparison!!!! LOL! …Singapore is a long ways away from New Jersey. 😞 LOL!)
    Thanks AGAIN for bringing The Arylic to my attention…(may buy one for my 300B Tube set-up!).

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  Před 3 lety

      So comparing the internal dac to a $200 dac like a schiit modeus, it's mostly the same. Comparing it to something 4X more expensive like the Denafrips Ares II was a bigger difference to my ears but still the type of change can be considered nuance by some. Things are more open, refined, organic, 3 dimensional. The internal dac is good enough unless you have a highly resolving system or are very pic and want to use the external dac to taylor your overall system presentation/sound. Thank's for the compliment on the mono blocks, I love them too :D. I think I was the first person in the US to buy them so I bought pretty much blind but damn it turned out well!!

    • @bobb.9917
      @bobb.9917 Před 3 lety +1

      @@NemoPropaganda THANKS so much for the honest, down-to-earth description of the DAC comparison! Sound differences sounds pretty minimal. I am considering the Arylic for my 300B Tube amp set-up where I am currently using a 10-yr. old Anedio DAC for my Woo Audio CD Transport. I want to add a streamer to that system and the Arylic sounds like a perfect choice…the DAC in the Arylic may even be better than my older Anedio…but if it isn't I would have the option to keep my Anedio DAC in the mix…PRETTY COOL!
      YEAH …DON'T ENCOURAGE me about The EX-B7's!!!!! I just wonder how much better/different it would sound compared to my Bob Carver…No way to know…so frustrating!!!! 😃 I am running some DynAudio Contour 20s there..and they LOVE the power! Great speakers.

    Hi! Thanks for the vid. I ordered one of these.
    But I can’t find on their website or anywhere else the answer I’m looking for. I understand I can stream Apple Music at 24/44 wirelessly. But what if I want to hardwire for Apple’s 24/192 stuff. I want to connect my iPad Pro (usb c) and I just think it’s stupid to buy another dac just to convert usb to spdif or toslink. Do i just plug it into the usb on the rear or what?

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  Před 2 lety

      S50+ does not accept USB input so you would need an external DAC, you'd need the A50+ instead which can accept digital signal via USB or add an external DAC like the schiit modi.

    Comments I have seen when comparing the Bluesound & Arylic products is the lack of gapless playback on the Arylic. Since you have both, will you discuss this please? How long a gap (time) are we talking about? Do you see this as a dealbreaker?

    • @mikewitt769

      Gapless = when a song ends the next song begins immediately - there is no gap of time in between. Bluesound supposedly has gapless playback. I think I read Arylic units have approx 3 seconds between songs. A lot of people comment that this is a dealbreaker for them

    • @NemoPropaganda
      @NemoPropaganda  Před 3 lety

      Okay I just plugged it back in to have a listen: The Arylic does not have a 3 second gap. 1 second at most on wifi and closer to half a second with ethernet. The Node 2i is faster though and truly gapless by comparison but without comparing the two i think most people will think the arylic is gapless. It was probably a bigger problem on the older version of the app. The apps been updated a lot recently :).
