MORE BIG RED! - czcams.com/video/OBqOw6U9cdI/video.html
ever thought of a OM606 swap
it looks like a truck. it drives like a tractor
Man go to dennyt and get a 3600 governor spring you’ll see a hell of a difference
Yes
Yes for sure
Leave the wheels alone. Everything has chrome dualies or semi wheels. This thing looks badass, like an old matchbox car in full scale, just as it is.
I agree, sandblast and repaint white or matte black but NO CHROME OR SEMI BS
Based on his previous videos, he'll probably pick the ugliest wheels he can find
Talking about wheels, Model D and Red have both 5 lug patterns... Just sayin' 🫣
@@thetechfromheaven uhhhhhh.... lug spacing?
Yes the white steel wheels match the age and style
It's not a project..... but do you want to see more of big red or nah?
casually thinking a bed stack, fix suspension, brakes, balance tires and maybe an intercooler and a bigger turbo but it's not a project so just kidding
@@RichRebuilds pin your comment uncle Rich, its too far down. Also Leenda's ass clickbait works so good job.
Yes! Make this into a project! Awesome!!
TBH, don’t care what truck or car you have on. It’s all about you and your crew’s hi jinx is why I’m here Rich.
more but Rich I really want you to do more on the Corvette please
That old GMC body and the sound of that Cummins... what a beautiful combination. One of the coolest trucks you have by far, Rich. Never sell it
“Clifford” is a great name! Love the original wheels. Awesome truck!!
Hey Rich remember that flooded Tesla you paid over $20,000 for back in 2019 and was flooded to the roof and it was all moldy? What ever happened to that I've been waiting for an update video
🤣🤣🤣
ROTFL!
Are chickens fed?
Waaaaaahahahahaha
Been living under a rock Sam? Lol!
Never thought I would see such cool trucks when first subscribing. You're becoming quite the diesel and rare truck officianado. Really digging that GMC. The seller did a nice job on it
yeah that truck is absolutely rad. one of the few times i am completely jealous.
I know what shop tuned it, so yeah great buy
Rare? These are like $500 all day and not rare one but
@@MrPland1992 rare for the east coast where everything rusts
Rich : we're on a hill Leenda so just ease into it
Leenda : *chuckles like a toddler about to do something bad*
The wheels on that truck alone are reason enough to buy it, they look so cool! So big and meaty and no-nonsense. Please don’t replace them with tacky chrome semi wheels, these are way more unique and interesting.
The ratio & proportions of that truck/wheels/tires/bed are unbelievably good.
tell me more about the tires and wheels, please,
The wheels look great, they are so simple. I'd just clean Clifford up and do so rust prevention. Improve brakes. Put an alarm on that gas tank.
Fuel Tank.
Diesel tank
Love love love, big red. These are the kind of truck I like to work. I am currently running an old farm truck on my farm daily. After 60 years it still works.
I absolutely KNEW you had some joke attached to the address. "4Play Gentlemen's Club" LOL legendary
The cgi for that smoke looks very realistic.
yeah this was filmed six month ago the post-work rendering took a bit longer XD
U hater leve the man alone
is that a haggard garage reference ? lmao
Black smoke is unburnt fuel. My 1987 Mercedes-Benz diesel does not smoke a bit. You guys could do better. Cheers!
Haha
Lol it looks like a Matchbox car, brilliant. The best part are the tyres/wheels that came with it. Don't go with big rims or anything too pimped. Now it all matches. Beautiful.
Holly smokes.. i was chocking behind my monitor need some monitor wipers to clean & watch these old 'clean coal' diesel farts running like that on dyno..
No wonder the EPA helicopter was above them the whole time, when they are used planet gets much warmer..
[ Ohh.. btw i up-voted your post, i watch from Europe and i'm a little sarcastic here but still damn it.. i really think the diesel banning will get there too eventually ].. ;0)
Nice truck! I'd keep the wheels, add a locking diff to the rear, upgrade the brakes, add stacks (or a single stack) and toss an intercooler on there.
That lever at 4:06 min could be for the old hydraulic brakes. You press the brake pedal and flip that lever and it holds the pressure to the wheels, allowing you to take your foot off the brakes. Flip the lever the opposite way and it releases the pressure bake to the master cylinder.
Yep, a MICO Brake Lock !
Now THAT is a truck!
Leave it exactly how it is. That’d be my daily if I had it.
I think he should do a video restoring the interior and seats.
I agree with this sentiment. That truck is so sweet just the way it is.
The fukin daily 💀
Imagine paying for gas to fuel that thing
@@superspeederbooster your ass would hurt that's for sure
I'd leave the exterior exactly as-is, definitely no shiny rims on this truck. I would make the interior clean though.
All id do is fix the paint, same exact color though.
Not so much clean, ,but seal up the rips, at least. Trucks like that are supposed to be cleaned with a garden hose. That is, the _cab_ should be cleaned with a garden hose.
The collective laughing at 23:35 is the kind of laughter you hear when you acknowledge that you may very well die in the moment having fun.
The laughter while going down the road in that C10 made my day.
Don't bother Leenda at that address, that is for the EPA only.
Wasn't she homeless?
Leenda works at a "Gentleman's Club" apparently...
@@jcargentum 4play the gentlemen's club - I assume she lives there.
Rich, something you should know about the Cummins 4BT/6BT: They have a dowel pin at the top of the block, above the timing gears. It can fall out, and destroy those gears. Big mess. It's called the Killer Dowel Pin. The fix is a simple steel tab and a bolt to hold it in place. The labor is what's expensive, but it beats a killed engine.
hell the labor is nothing if u own basic tools. 10mm socket and removing fan clutch
@@nicholascravens6674 Don't ya have to take everything off the front of the engine to get the timing cover off?
@@jeffrykopis5468 just the fran shroud and the fan/ fan clutch. Its less work than when i swapped my water pump on my 2000 7.3L. im actually doing a kdp fix this weekend on my 12V i just got a month ago. I am actually taking the whole core support and radiator off too though - previous owner wrecked it and damaged the front left side and im replacing it all - shouldnt take a few hours for that WHOLE thing.
@@nicholascravens6674 Good to know, thanks! All the more reason for Rich to get it done.
Keep those sick wheels. They are so ridiculously big and wide. So unique for this truck.
That’s damn impressive. Can’t go wrong with a Cummins. The truck is definitely setup correctly. Nice 👍. Thanks for sharing.
- Blows up duramax from pushing it too hard
- Buys another truck to replace duramax
- Throws it on the dyno and sprays nitrous into the intake from a cracked bottle
There's definitely a pattern forming...
Whistling Diesel formula?
@@MrOiram46 a very ironic one because on the recommendations, this one was below a Whistling Diesel Video about an Indestructible pickup called Toyota Hilux
Well these 12 valve Cummins engines can handle the abuse they are literally the best engine in existence. Unlike the dura Max that can bearly hang any abuse
@@abishaicaldera2978 The Isuzu is a good engine, but I agree that the Cummins is a better one. (the Powerstrokes are too, if you exclude the 6.4 and un-bulletproofed 6.0s)
But this isn't a 12V. He's got a 24V In it. More configurable with instant tunes, and therefore more powerful, but I do love the old 12V 5.9.
23:30 "I just like older trucks"
That really got me thinking as to why. Older trucks are no-nonsense workhorses meant to work. Modern trucks and the way a lot of people use them are basically just bigger crossovers. 4wd Hemis that stay in the garage if it snows because it's someone's baby. Go buy a Kia then and save the money and gas.
yeah, a lot of the market now is people who just want a truck. the f150 aluminum body especially doesn't hold up well in actual workhorse conditions most of the time.
A lot of trucks today have basically become oversized and overpriced family grocery getters with a lot of unnecessary things that can and will go wrong for something that’s supposed to be for work.
Just watch all the "trucks" going down the hiway.
1 in 30 are actually hauling something in the bed.
But they saved money that one time three years ago when they got a fridge from costco!
@@gqqggq7127 New dishwasher, honey? Sure, I can haul it home.
This is the moment I've been training for my whole life!
A little resto-mod and that thing would be amazing. Things I would change, intercooler, power steering, under the bed fuel tank, regular truck bed.
That valve you found under the dash was a hydraulic lock for the brakes (Mico lock brand I would guess). As for tires, that truck cab probably rolled out of the factory with 7.50 X 20 tires or 8.25 X 20 tires in the wheel well.
When a 5-year-old draws a truck, this is what’s in their head. So great.
I sure couldn't draw that well at 5! But by age 10 I could, and I drew cars all the time. I mostly drew 55-57 CHEVIES, 32 Fords and Model A hot rods, classic Mustangs, and Ford (always) trucks. I did that until I was about 17.
Is Stevon influencing all these pickup trucks with that mullet?
I got fired from my job because i almost fought my 50 year old coworker.. and It got toxic yo so now, i spend most of my time smoking weed on my CZcams channel now, meanwhile i get back to the hustle👀

100% wanna see this truck again
I bet that truck would be great to take on the lake to go ice fishing.
Nope its a Ford cause Chevy sinks "like a rock" and shit floats
may I remind this would get stuck with open diff RWD, and that torque. I live somewhere with 5 solid months of snow. would need at least a diff lock and studded tires.

Personally I wouldn't do much with this one other than upkeep. It's an old super cool bad ass truck, I'd just enjoy the hell outta this one dude.
I really like the style of this truck, I think it deserves a nice touch on the paint, interior, new tyres, but keep the same style, and just maintenance, I really like the way it is

the answer is black man, big booty & badass rides
The focus is Rich.
Like the truck, when I was 8 years old the first vehicle I learned to drive was a 1965 two ton Chevy stakebed on my grandfather's ranch/ farm, every summer for 9 years I would go to my Grandparents farm to stay anywhere from two weeks to two months (and when I went I had to work no free rides with my Grandfather) and while at times I thought it sucked at time, those were some of the best times of my life. The nearest neighbor was over a mile away and the nearest town was a bit over 15 miles away ( but it was a really small town and the town that was better was about 30 miles away) and it was all dirt roads. There was a lot of fun times and a lot of hard work but it was well worth it, and now I'm over 60 I really appreciate that part of my life.
👍😆😜🥴😎😎🦅🐈 Thanks for the memories of that time because of seeing your truck 😊😆😆🐈
Love this truck! Hubert is the name that keeps coming to me for what ever reason.
That's a beautiful truck, I love the how wheels look.
Name it Clifford for sure, Fricken cool ride. You should add power steering and brakes, put a big 5th wheel hitch on it and make it the shop tow rig
I had an f150 named Clifford lol
After you said "no cage or seat belts we die like men" I lost my shit hahaha 🤣😂
One of the coolest trucks I’ve seen in a long time. Love it.
Clifford is awesome!! That dude did a great job building it.
Imagine a world where the self starter hadn’t been invented and we’ve been driving electric since 1912. Then someone comes along and says “I’ve got a great idea for the most complicated engine & systems you can imagine to move a vehicle down the road.” Gotta love it.
Batteries were pretty crappy in 1912. Diesel is much more reliable.

I'd definitely look into making it run with a better air to fuel ratio. Black smoke doesn't do much besides give others asthma attacks. Plus save fuel while not actually reducing performance which is becoming a real problem.
Love old medium duty trucks, you can assemble them with spare parts like Frankenstein and they’ll keep going! 👍
Looks badass! Love it
Sweet! that thing looks like a giant Tonka toy.
I love the wheel and tire combo on that thing it looks good with those on it
Highbeams on the floor were great back then.
Except when you can't quite get your foot in the right spot, or the thing's stuck because you haven't stomped the button in months, and it's gummed up.
@@tbelding I'm guessing you didn't like them. You never needed to stomp on them. A light push worked fine.
@@lavapix We had the high beams on the floor in an 81 E150. If you weren't using them regularly, the button could stick and jam up. We very rarely used high beams, even on the rural roads we lived upon.

I want that truck. Better yet, you have inspired me to modify my 1948 GMC COE. She's a beauty but is a 2.5 ton truck with a 235 maybe a 100 horse. It is not a daily driver. I don't have a diesel. I think you need a source of vacuum to get the brakes working correctly. The tank on the passenger side frame rail is a vacuum tank.
Engine should have a vacuum pump on it as it looks to have been from a Dodge app.
@@82f100swb OK. I was not sure if Dodge trucks were hydroboost or vacuum. From how he described the brake problem, I think there is no vacuum or a bad booster.

That is a NIIIIIICE truck, I love those good ol farm trucks, single cabs are my favorite for numerous reasons
