In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion. - Komedie
I love the energy of “is that a sycamore tree? IM GOING IN” 😂
It's the lord!
{-}7
i just want to know what she was planning with the sycamore tree before she found that poor lizard.
The tree has seed pods that spin like a helicopter as they fall I think
@@adambaker9926 their seeds are known as helicopter seeds, they spin to the ground like a helicopter's blades
I know the laundry concept didn’t work out.. but why would he choose a quick wash when the concept is the longer the better??
Probably because of the short amount of time they had to start the spinning. If you didn't find something to spin within the 10 minutes, then you'd lose. So he was probably thinking that a short cycle would get to the spinning stage sooner in its program.
I wonder if it was a washer-dryer? Then putting it on a drying cycle probably would have had it spinning for an hour, give or take.
Should have used the ‘spin’ cycle.
Alternatively I would have just turned on a blender and let it run till it died. The blade is spinning and all soo
The buggered lizard was brilliant.
Just something to add a bit of showbiz to the whole proceeding
OP I bet you didn't think you'd say that today.
@@flamingowilliams9664 No, but I've spent enough years on the internet to not be surprised I did.
I was thinking someone would go find a blender in the kitchen.
I used to play bass for the Buggered Lizard 🤘
Lisa and asim were the perfect duo to represent the phrase “work smarter, not harder”
Well... Asim did spin the tire with the brake on the entire time so still worked kinda hard for it lol
@@TheRabidDeer I think that's the point. He worked the hardest, she worked the smartest.
They put a picture of a fan on the door of the camper. It seems like that would be the obvious choice. Too bad they didn't rub it in at the end like they normally do!
Mad observant. Impressive!
It was my first thought! Just turn on a fan. I didn't see the picture tho lol
Should have asked Alex to spin claiming he is not a person. Greg would love that
Doubt he would have managed to beat 84mins though. Would have been funny to watch him try.
At 1:33, I bet Alice's phone didn't actually play the taskmaster theme tune, but something else they couldn't get clearance for, so they edited the theme tune in.
The ‘phone was actually a good idea if Alice had used it properly. Surely there is an app in which one can make a picture rotate, like a hypnotic pattern or something.
I just decided to test whether one could easily be found or whether it would be one of those cases where it was hard to get the right key words. I typed ‘hypnotic’ into the App Store, it suggested ‘hypnotic spiral’, I clicked on that and downloaded the first app and when I opened it it immediately started spinning. So in total it just took a few seconds. This was a few years ago so the apps and speed would have been different, but there would have been something.
I think there’s also a website you can use, it’s a spinning m… actually let’s not use that idea
@@TheCheesyNachos I sadly know exactly what you are talking about and let's definitely not go there 🤣
Better stick to leekspin instead
Just hope that settings are right, or the app is done correctly. There is a possibility that it turns off the screen after a while you haven't touched it.
@@TheCheesyNachos now I'm curious
That face Alice made when Greg was making fun of her, priceless!
I was so gutted when Alice didn't find a better solution, it's really hard with a 10 min time-frame and you get locked into a solution that isn't available.
I just found this show the other day and may I say its hilarious to watch, I've been watching so many episodes of them
it never gets boring!
It’s great. I found it on CZcams the end of last year and told my parents about it. They’re just about to finish the newest season after watching all the older ones.
Same here. Best show ever!
welcome to the rabbit hole
I wish I could watch them for the first time again :-)
Always go for the dryer. It doesn't stop spinning and you can usually set it for at least 90mins.
@AZBYCX Yeah, it's pretty common in Europe to not have a dryer. Feels very weird as an American.
Every dryer I've ever used only spins for a few minutes before briefly stopping and spinning the other way
@@isaacking1524I've never heard of people not having a dryer unless they're students and I'm in Western Europe. Not sure where you get your info from as an American lol.
@@m__6930 I've stayed in Europe and the house I stayed in had a washer but no dryer. See also the other European commenter above confirming my claim.
@@m__6930from France and no one I know under 40 yo has a dryer
Lisa's was fucking genius to be fair
I loved Liza Tarbuck throughout Series 6 - charismatic and hilarious...
Have always liked her
One of them could have conceivably gotten infinite time by putting a wheel or something under a running faucet. It would have spun forever so long as the water was running and it remained in place.
I was actually thinking that aswell but than I seen the anologue clock on the wall and thought just take the battery out and put it back in
Well...the largest spinning thing is the ground you are standing on.
@@mathewgurney8134 Analogue clock reset would be arround 1 minute to reprogram itself. After that its 1 second a turn so its 61 seconds. Enough to be 3rd at least.
Exactly my first thought! But a ping pong ball, not a wheel.
That’s too much work though. Just turn on the fan
If only there was just a simple CD player in the task house. Put in one CD, put it on repeat. Infinite spin time😂
we don't have those anymore
@@CoreDump07 Then how do you install Windows XP onto a new computer?
USB, baby, its the future@@robcoop6521
@@robcoop6521using my storage crate of floppy disks, of course! 😅
@@robcoop6521you use a thumb drive, most computers don’t have slots for cds anymore
Finding this channel during exam time might either teach me a lesson of being good at the last minute or of the famous hindsight 😅
The clue to the best idea was the task itself! All they had to do was hang the card back up on the fishing wire. It would have spun back and forth forever
If I remember correctly. Two people in Sweden just turned on a fan and then left lol
Vänta - finns det en svensk version? Var kan man se den?
Well yeah, they even put a picture of a fan on the door to the camper.
@@TomWeiSweden Bäst i Test

I would have gone with a blender but that works too (I know there is a functional blender but idk if they have a functional fan)
I'd try to make a water wheel in the sink. Find something circular, stick a hanger through the middle to be its axle and position it under a running faucet. Should go until they got the next water bill and turn it off. I imagine actually getting it to go reliably on the first try would take some ingenuity and luck though.
You're not allowed to turn off someone's water for non-payment in the UK.
(Handy tip for anyone struggling with bills atm.)
I was thinking just turning on a desk fan would be a good run.
@@dangermouse9348 I'm surprised anyone pays then.
@@thewanderingmistnull2451 Me too.
Rear/front wheel drive vehicles can be lifted via jack and then set to drive for as long as the gasoline lasts. No gas pedal necessary, a full tank will last more than a day.
idk if there's a microwave in the kitchen but I would have set it for 99:99 and put something on the little plate inside.
It's actually pretty smart.
Sounds like a good way to make a microwave explode, lol
I was thinking the same thing, except the “thing” would just be the plate thing that you put food on in the microwave
99 minutes and 99 seconds???
At 7:11 there is a clock. I would have taken the batteries in and out to make it restart spinning its hands. Should last more than a year
Again... Lisa Tarbuck, Genius.!
This channel is probably the only good youtube reccomendation I've ever gotten
I would have gone into the kitchen to get a hand mixer. Tape it in a standing position, switch it on while it is plugged in and just wait. Alex would probably say, it is still spinning....Or they could have gone with a fan if there is one in the house. The dinosaur was genius though.
you need to be careful with those, continuous use tends to make them overheat (especially the cheap ones).
so make sure to choose a low speed.
@@isaz2425 Not if it's just mixing air. Electric motors consume more power, and thus produce mote heat, if something tries to slow them down
@@bene5431 you might be right, I only know that I broke 2 of those by over heating.
The range hood has a fan. I've seen a desk fan in other episodes.
Most bathrooms have a fan, in my experience.
honestly, I probably would have plugged in an electric fan
Instead of a quick wash he should have set it to Spin, you know, the setting where it spins.
If he were to spin the front tire on the bike I believe it would have kept spinning.
Need closure on the sycamore tree
She was looking for Sycamore seeds. They spin as they fall to the ground from the tree due to their shape (kinda like a propeller) so she was probably thinking of finding one, taking it somewhere high and then dropping it. Then in the time it took to realise there wasn't one, thought of the drill one which was better in terms of time.
@@AlexaFaie thanks!
Lisa and Sally are definitely the craziest people that Taskmaster's ever had.
Nope. That award goes to Rod. No contest.
*Puts random item on ground* "The worlds always spinning, Alex."
Asim should’ve done the other wheel. No brakes on that one.
the pedals wouldn’t work on that one tho right
@@TheCheesyNachos Yeah, but he was using his hands anyway.
@@PravinDahal but the gears would, without the brakes on, make it less strenuous
There was the exhaust fan in the toilet, that could've run for quite long
Just switch on the fan, or a blender.. will spin for ages
They even put a picture of a fan on the camper door.
This series is so underated
Spread the good word
A series that has lasted 13 series and 3 news years specials and spawn various foreign spin-offs is underrated is it…
@@CricketEngland I meant this series of taskmaster
@@Stuffthatsfunny1 seconded. Asim's rap and newfound father figure, Tim's missing hook, call Russell when he's needed, Alice's surprising egg, Liza just Liza-ing,
@@Stuffthatsfunny1 the season?
The dryer is better at spinning than the washer!
"Evil Dead 2"!?!?! I didn't know anyone else knew about that movie!
Anyone here ever try to buy a copy? They're difficult to find and expensive when you do.
Yeah, as a "laundry Nazi" as my ex husband used to call me, I started laughing when the guy chose the washing machine. Dude, you have no idea about washing cycles and principles. 😅
Truly. Short cycle? Never heard of centrifugation?
@@flo9 🤣🤣
Jack a car up, put it in first, and let the clutch out lol.
See this is why Liza is my favorite, always thinking fourth dimensionally
I’m pretty sure Liza had by far the biggest margin of victory of any TM champion. Felt like that watching the series anyway.
@@kisbie surprisingly she only beat Tim by 6 points, even though she was pretty much leading the series since episode 2. Noel, Bob, Lou and Ed all won by 8 points
I'd have found any oldish computer and turned it on. The hard drive will be spinning as long as the computer is on
I'm sorry, but even the old ones will only spin as long as there's a read/write job in queue. Which means it'll be like the washing machine, and a do a couple of stops underway, leaving you with something like 30-60 seconds, at best, before the first stop.
You could start a cd-player though.
Have ya'll seen the episode where Alex calls Asim, ass? And he goes "whoa wait a minute, only my close friends call me ass" it was pretty good.
that was such a great cast! :D
I was surprised nobody went inside to grab a fan and just plugged it in and turned it on
2:15
"For as long as poss?"
"For as long as possIBLE"
😂Alex got a little annoy
Blender. “I’m spinning the blades”
I would have started a car, opened the hood, then pointed at a pulley and said watch that until it runs out of gas.
I was thinking car too but fan in the house would have been better.
liz for me was such a hidden gem.
Im curious about the fact that there was a camera already recording inside the washing machine. Perhaps they knew that eventually a contestant would come up with the idea of using it, or perhaps they stopped the clock for a moment while they installed it inside 🤔
You could use the phone by having it constantly vibrate. It spins the little motor inside for as long as the battery lasts.
I absolutely adore Alice
That daddy issues moment was both funny and heartwarming ngl. Wish my dad was still around
i like russel chose a washing machine in a room with a microwave
the family portrait had me dying
That “oh for fuck sake” is defo a mood
If he did his own laundry, he would have known that wasn’t going to work.
I would've created a mini watermill with a stick and 4 spoons strongly taped together then placed it under the tap and let the tap run forever! (rip greg's water bill tho)
And no one thought to find a clock with spinning hands.
Take the drill apart, rip the motor out of it, cut the plug end off a chord, wire the plug end to the electric drill motor, plug it into an outlet.
It will spin (effectively) forever so long as it stays plugged in and it isn't hard to do.
An Evil dead 2 reference... Groovy.
Rolling is spinning plus translation yes, it's spinning
The Earth spins on its axis. Orbiting the sun isn’t spinning.
OK, Russell Howard's plan didn't quite work, but leaving that side... if your plan is to use a washing machine, and you want to go for as long as possible, why choose "Quick Wash"? Surely you'd choose the most intensive cycle possible, turn on the pre-wash and extra rinse options etc?
Links to that «The world keeps spinning»video.
If someone was gonna make a movie based on the No One Lives Forever games, that redhead would be a perfect main actress.
Theres a fan in the taskmaster house somewhere. I woulda just went inside, turned the fan on, said "Alright Alex" and walked away
They have a vacuum cleaner (they've used it in a different task), it's got a motor and impeller inside it. So definitely they have something that's mains powered and spins.
plug in a treadmill.
Okay I expected someone to go "the earth is spinning".
me: finds a plug-in fan, turns it on, takes a nap. has his spin going forever, lol.
0:09 A man shows up for a single frame here lol
I instantly thought of just plugging a fan in
Why didn't he put it in the dryer 🤣 why the washing machine LMAO
I’m surprised no one went for a blender. Just plug and go haha.
Spoon waterwheel in the sink
Rolling is spinning.
I was waiting for someone to find a box fan
just give the ground a good slap and say you made it spin
Did no one play on the swings as a child? Tie something to a string/rope, twist it until it's physically impossible to twist it anymore, and it will spin for a long time, rewinding itself up over and over
That's not continuous. It stops and reverses direction.
my object that shall spin is Earth.
If Alice called me baby cakes I would melt
What about her 100 other pet names for Alex?
@@iliketrains3495 If Alice called me literally anything, I would melt. Hell, if she talked to me at all for any reason, no matter how trivial, I don't think I could handle it.
fr
They were given a clue for a great strategy, and only a handful of people in the comments even got it.
A decent weight hanging from a longish string will spin for a really long time if you wind it up a lot.
But yeah you have to give credit for the drill.
It's amusing that the gyroscopes we have in e.g. our mobile phones usually no longer have anything that's spinning (MEMS gyroscopes have something that vibrates back and forth instead).
Imagine if someone accidentily invented a perpetual motion machine.
My first thought is a tube with a wire through it tied low on a treadmill and turn the machine on lol.
Derrrrr - Russell you should have used the ‘tumble’ dryer clues in the name son.........
Just say that you are spinning earth😎
The ball wasn't spinning, it was rolling around the dish.
Yeah - just like the earth isn't spinning - just moving around the sun.
@@Craznar not quite but I can see your thought process.
Given how he was rotating the dish, the ball absolutely had to be spinning. It would not have gone in a circle without doing so. That's just how the physics work out.
@@thewanderingmistnull2451 yeah, read what I said again. Just like satellites aren't going round the earth they are constantly falling towards to it
alice is just stunning
I like that the washer failed Russell and Mawan seemingly brilliant ideas.
There is one thing Russel missed out:
_If you're already in the kitchen..._
_every convection oven has a fan_ ;)
(as does every extractor hood)
I already liked your show, now a random evil dead reference?
Just turn on a desk fan and walk away.
I'd pretend to push the earth and claim that as my spin
My first thought was pizza cutter under a tap. Tape it in place and…. I guess it goes until it wears out or taskmaster doesn’t want to pay the water bill for that anymore
Only just realised Asim and Paul have the same surnames phonetically
I would have set up a water wheel in the sink with the faucet running. Infinite time hack.
Where’s that blender that shows up from time to time? Throw something in there, turn it on, and it’ll spin till the power goes out.
I thought Russell had a good idea till I noticed it was a washing machine and not the dryer. Also the earth does spin, but in that case the ball fits the definition of a roll more.
Would have asked Alex to get his car, jacked the front wheel up, and took it out of park 😂 just let the car run
I was just thinking this, except turn it on in neurtral, the engine will spin for hours.
Just need to turn the car on neutral, the serpentine belt will spin until the tank runs out
There's probably a fan in that extractor in the kitchen
This show is hilarious I am going to get kids to play similar stuff.
