Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

@@rswany16 yes I realize that, I just started watching this guy and didn’t know how sarcastic he was and his followers, no need to get pissy
Your Dad is Such a COOL and CALM GUY !!! Always seems to just roll with the punches
That man has been around a couple minutes. He's seen some shit in his day, none of what happened today is anything new to him lol. It's rare to see an old farmer get worked up over just about anything. Prolly would've made a good cop too, cool, calm, collected and level headed is the best characteristic a man can have in any line of work really.
There is not much Dad has not seen and dealt with. And remember, he comes from a generation when everything was not automated or mechanized designed to be worked on. I love the way he disagrees with Zach but makes him feel like things are Zach's idea. That's the dad part.

@@godoftheinterwebz lol yup 100%
Ok, yea
Zach, I'm glad to see your local schools still support the shooting sports. We are down to two that have trap teams and the districts treat them like the proverbial red headed step child.😢
Two things farmers do. Pray for rain and then Pray for the rain to stop.
Oh yes, those "oh sh*t" moments.
And the farmers prayer.
"Lord with all yer power,
Hold off just one more hour".
I love how the producers add an element of surprise in the script…
In the uk olly bloggs used talcum powder when he drove a class combine from johno’groats to lands end as they recommended it
Your cylinder stops were hanging on the back of the planter. Put them in the outside cylinders and set the planter down on them and pick up the inside tracks.
Spray the dandelions in the fall after the first frost if you actually want to kill them.
If it makes you feel better in Alberta Canada we are still in a drought haven’t had a good rain in 2 years and our fields aren’t hardly growing it’s annoying that you guys are having a hard time planting and we are having a hard time growing. Love you channel and humour. Keep up the good work!
That humididity is exactly what the plants want. So glad I live in the mountain west. It rains, then the dewpoint / humidity drops in the low 30's. Course we can't grow anything out here unless it's irrigated and have to spend hundreds of thousands on irrigation equiptment and gas/electric to pump the water, but hey...we have comfortable weather!
Bugger !! When you want 🌧 there's none, and tben when you don't, it 🌧
Anna lets out the be careful bark to Zac and her buddy Dig comes running to see what's up. Love dogs. I wish all tractors came with "Anna Start".
We have 3 farms in my county that farm in a radius of about 70 miles and each rent land from 200+ landowners lol. Crazy to think how 20 miles is a long ways for some parts of the country lol.
On the far farms its best to load your seed and fertilizer in the field. I too have dealt with the same issue and found its a non problem if you keep all the extra weight off during transport.
The down side of tracks and the24 row planter. Tracks are made in field to reduce compaction. Long road trips, don’t carry seed , that’s what tender trucks are for. Lesson learned.
Talking about shotgun ranging... Our local state park skeet and trap range is arranged in a circle. i.e. You are shooting inward toward the center of the circle. You can see if there is someone opposite you on the course. 250-300 yard distance. No one's been injured. Bird and skeet shot drop off at 100ish yards. The pellets don't carry enough mass/inertia to get vary far. Only a sobot slug is going over 160 yards at best.
Doesn’t matter the color of the equipment. It’s the service after the sale that is important.
The haze of smoke the stunt man dealt with had me on edge.
Kudos to Becky for all of the fine editing!!
Hearing your dad talk about plans is the personification of "Midwest nice".
I believe that's the first time we've ever seen you at a loss for words Zach!
Nothing must bother your dad he's the most laidback easy going person
All them barns and your mower sets outside
Sharp hat, just got it the other day in the mail
Mower gate 2024 incoming!! Must be nice to just leave that mower sitting in rain!! 😂
I don't know why it's so complicated. We just want enough dry time to plant, then it can rain a bunch until a few weeks before harvest. I don't think that's asking too much. I just need a few three-four day windows in there to make hay.
Rain = Water. Down south irrigation is expensive. But dang the rain dance is a pain!
An RV park too? Wow I guess you're right Zack, there's no way anyone from across the country could go there in an RV to stay, and there is no way there would be other guns or your approved ammo in said RV's. smh. Naive, or maybe it's denial.
Surprised you guys travel that far with a loaded planter. Probably didn’t do the track any favors. Wishing y’all luck with rest of season and timely rains
The eternal battle
Farmer: I wish it would rain.
Also farmer: Oh shit! It's raining!
Midwest Machine is your savior, man that was quick of them.
This is one reason why I love the older equipment, not saying they don't plug during rains but, in my area, they did and still do a far better job in "wet" conditions. We've "mudded" in crops before, sucked but it was doable. Great video as always, cheers :)
That 90 seams like a real PIA!
I love to see the tractor and disc running. Tillage is so cool. The archery course totally fooled me! haha
The good thing about tracks is that they don't need air.........they're already flat.....
Life of the farmer always going to rain. Lol. Very true sir.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. A shame that the track wore out ahead of the others, factory defect?? Nice to see you tilled in all your broadcast spread freedom seeds. Hopefully your crop comes in nicely. Wishing you and your family the best.
Good video good to see y'all
The ending was pretty cool - about sums up this year!! Toodles!!
Fantastic service from Midwest! We’ve all been there with just need another hour or so and it’s the farthest from home😫
Staying calm is key and you and your dad both did a great job. Happy you and the machine are good and just one broken track.
It’s wild to me to load seed then go for an hour road trip especially when you have a seed tender
There is a trap place near me that faces heavily traveled interstate. Vehicles are literally in your vision as your shooting. While distracting to the shooter, those people traveling are 100% safe.
Really sorry you didn’t get finished. Thankful for MW quick response and happy that it’s just a track. Costly fix but it is what it is!
Don't know if anyone caught it, when you backed the planter around on the head row, while casually carrying on a conversation with your dad on the radio. 😉
the joys of being a farmer
Aaron's correct, right, insightful and pretty smart..... always go clock wise 😅😅😅😊😊😊
Damn SO CLOSE AND YET SO FAR AWAY 😡😡😡. Better days ahead. Thanks Zack.
I was out there when you were cultivating I was wondering who that was when you were out there I am in the sport at Alex and I love that you became the owner cause I have been a fan for a while I wish I could of gotten a autograph
You own 20 trap houses mean something completely different from my profession.😂😂😂 Good stuff always enjoy your videos and humor.
I only had 5 trap houses, but the WV State Shoot was run across those 5.
Like your Dad’s “Farmer’s First” shirt with the maple leaf.
Morning from Siesta Key Florida
Glad were done planting
"THEY'RE SHOOTING THE FREEWAY"
come on people
Those who say that kind of thing have no clue about firearms. Do they really think the authorities would allow a clay target set up to be used when it was shooting vehicles on the road. Totally dumb.
You must live in the city.
People love to be offended about something🤦🏻♂️
OMG they’re shooting shotguns at the road🙄🤦🏻♂️
There is a rifle range in Switzerland that the shooting position are on one side of the autobahn and the targets on the other.
You shoot over the road
Thank you for the video.
How can you not have a fire extinguisher in the tractor? TODAY: Go buy one for every vehicle, and multiple ones for each building.
Awesome video. Thank you
thank you
Well, Very glad nothing caught on fire. Andrew Camarata had one of his excavators go up in his latest video so I was a bit concerned reading your title. He also put fire extinguishers in all his equipment after that fire. LoL
I'll say it again. There's no substitute for a 2.5 gallon water extinguisher.
You can only do what you can only do !! Be glad ya'll got rain
Thanks for the show guys 🍻
ASP was sure packed this weekend when I drove past! Getting up to 2" of rain today (Monday) as I'm watching this. UGH
Well, as my Dad use to say- it is always something on the farm , right ? i remember when he was rototilling and right in the middle of almost finishing the last row, it croaked so to speak. Dad was not happy at all. You can almost hear him all the way to the little machine shop he had in the back of the Garage. :D Hope your week is better. :D
😂😂 Zack CUSSED!!! He said "OH SHIT".... I guess this ain't a family channel anymore!! Lol!😂
It's still a family channel, it's just for families that curse

Grew up on a dairy. I think I only learned the word “manure” when I got to school!
Good luck hope you get done going get hot here been pleasure watching you
Seed talc/graphite also works well to lubricate tracks. We have two farms that are 50ish miles from home farm in different directions. Normally stop halfway and throw some talc/graphite mix on the tracks of the quad track every time. 18” tracks were horrible about getting hot. Switched to 24” and not near as bad thankfully
Holy smokes I read the title as "The Planter Tractor Went Up In Smoke" and i almost had a heart attack
I made the same misreading!
Me also! I am considering reporting to the CZcams click bait hotline 😮
Make that three of us. I read it the same way!
Ya I half did the same. Thought the title was referring to the tractor the planter was attached to as well.
You need to read again before you comment
New t-shirt idea? 'Feels Tippy'....I'd buy it.
We had an 8RX 24" track belt do the same thing. Snapped the inner steel belting and heated up the rubber track. Got home going very slow with all that planter weight on the hitch.
We feel the pain here to up in Canada lol guys are still seeding and we finished the night of the rain that came 2 inches in 2 hours
Lead content of that field should be spectacular, lol
Wow so close to getting done that sucks. Maybe it won’t rain to long.
anything over a couple miles we spray dry graphite on the inside of our tracks and it really keeps them cool.
Love it
Graphite or talc works great too
Thanks for the video everyone.
It was interesting that is for sure.
Obviously the day did not go well but out of your control. The rain factor we can’t control.
Just a suggestion. Being you have so far to go it has to be hard on the planter to be fully loaded and doing so many road miles.
How about loading once there. I fully realized it means someone following you with seed but better than damage to the planter.
I do understand as we had two rented farms a distance from us. Had to haul everything over there. About 25 miles. Just try to help Zach.
Hang in there.
I hope the track system on your planter can be fixed soon. But I think you said this was your last field to day for the season. Hang in there.
The rain this season has caused its share of problems.
Being your planter is new I hate to see the damage. Great for your dealer to come and follow you and look at the track system.
Better days ahead let’s hope.
Take care Zach.
The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
You are my favorite CZcamsr
I really enjoyed watching your videos to
Hi 👋🏻 Zach Johnson
After folding up u need to lower planter about 2 inches to keep even distribution. Dust and talc help as well.
That’s what we do with ours. Not carrying seed on long trip also.
The end LOL
Oh boy
Zach Becky Dad great job as always enjoyed it if you did not have trouble with the track on the planter you would have had smooth sailing had it all done thanks again you all great video
I see you have topped the one million subscriber mark. Congratulations Zach. Now Anna gets her tractor ride.
I think there's a "Yeah, but" involved.
You missed that video a long time ago😂
You should keep a laser thermometer around, Good for all sorts of friction issues
Well come ji
You must have a tote of Dicamba? Spray them dandelions middle to late September when drift isn't an issue. 2-4D and Banvel in the fall, no dandelions next summer.
Love your dad shirt
I believe there is a rifle range in Switzerland where you fire over a major road but with the concrete wall it is impossible to fire and hit a vehicle. But they are also very strict about their gun safety
Got one of you hats for my birthday
Happy belated birthday!
We haven’t had a race at the Benton speedway in 3 weeks cause of rain, we tried last night but it started raining right before sprint cars feature.
5:01 DON'T let out the smoke!
The Gen X Farmer (Known as your Dad) is always a hoot!
In greece we have a heat wave 3 weeks no rain and the temps are high, i just harvested my wheat and it went rly well for the area i am
Send some of the rain please !!!
That ending thing you did was the funniest thing I everR see! Arumphpaha ugh ahh ahhhh pfft
My son lives just across the freeway from the shooting park.
So great to see another farm video from Zack can't wait for the next one
Just traveled Green Bay to Spokane Washington we stayed at the shooting park one night each direction, good overnight stop off the interstate far enough so no traffic noise and easy to get back on interstate. Thanks Zack
Thank you!
A lot of times when your in a hurry ,crap happens!
It feels weird being here this ealrly
