The New Horizons mission has been a real space mission challenge - one of the toughest in human history. The probe reached Pluto and captured a view of the rock on the outskirts of our solar system that no one has ever seen before at such a close distance. Or maybe, we're not the first to see it… Because what New Horizons found has scientists questioning: Is Pluto just a frigid, lifeless rock, or could there be more to this dwarf planet?
8 years later, the data collected during the flyby is still being studied by the mission team, providing new exciting discoveries, and changing the way we look at the solar system.
Is there really a hidden ocean of liquid water beneath Pluto's surface? What caused icy dunes across the planet’s terrain?
Learn about these fascinating things, about how the dwarf planet swaps material with its largest space neighbor, and more as we take you on a journey to Pluto, and see it like it's never been seen before.

When this was arriving to Pluto I thought wow 2006-2015 was a long time. Now here we are 2015-2024. Same amount of time has passed. Time sure flies!
BRING BACK PLUTO!
If PLUTO could talk, it would file discrimination and planet racism against NASA! PLUTO IS A PLANET damnit.
Justice for Pluto. Say no against planet racism 😂
Poor baby, keep on crying!
That is very true it doesn't matter how big or how small a planet is a planet
I think it’s called planetism
There is no such natural object as a planet, or a weed, or a shadow, or a sky, etc.
Pluto is a planet, never understood the stupid decision to change it
First world problems 🙄
It’s a planet. They’ll figure it out some day.
I love videos about Pluto..the new horizons mission was some thing magical..sooooo far it went to a planet that no one will ever see with there own eyes..
Space is so beautiful ❤ love the videos destiny 🙏🏽
Pluto is the best Planet in the solar system!
I'm partial to earth lol
I like Uranus
The new information about Pluto is very great information there is so much secrets about the universe that we are continuing to find every year😊 I am excited to see more videos like these you guys keep up with the great work
Pluto's complexities revealed by New Horizons still fascinate me. It's incredible how this once distant and mysterious world has become a source of such intrigue and potential
Pluto is a planet, fight me!
Its not😊
I love Pluto’s little heart 🥺🤎
What I find with watching videos like this is that they give you a feeling of what it would like to be on a different planet other than Earth. Just amazing 👏
Space is so cool, pluto even cooler
Pluto is cooler than all of space? That's a huge claim considering all the wonders found and waiting to be found out in space. Pluto is neat and all but there are so many celestial bodies with much more going on than Pluto
@@majinvegeta9280No, Pluto's still the coolest.
More of PLUTO plzzz !
Just leave poor pluto alone. Poor little thing.
Astronomers were shocked as they never expected to find a replica of the three pyramids of Giza upon the permanantly frozen surface of Pluto.
This spacecraft is as old as me. I was five years old in 2006. And I had no idea about the spacecraft until Angry Birds space was counting down to the flyby of Pluto.
The opening of this video makes it feel like it's going to be some hour long epic, but then you realize they probably only have a handful of pics to work with and the video is only 16 ½ minutes.
😄👍
Ok so maybe it's Hundreds of pics but still.
😅
It would be incredibly hard to stretch what we have, data wise, into one hour. But sure glad you enjoyed the opening ☺
@@meziahdanieljolley8842 yeah, no I liked the whole video. It's actually fascinating that they were able to obtain the information they have, certainly takes a deep understanding of various elements and the creativity to accept their existence in such unique, immense and comparably unusual configurations.
Great video but damn, that was one seriously awkward hug at 4:38!
Pluto feels like a Planet trapped in the body of a dwarf
شكرا
I'm riveted thank you
what a great video!
I didn't know how visually *_colorful_* Pluto is. There's grey, silver, maroon, mahogany, dark orange, a slab of navy blue...
What made this dwarf planet such an array of eyecandy appeal?
I was born a Scorpio and supposedly ruled by Pluto who recently went into Aquarius, good for humanity the astrologers say.
One of, and not only, beautiful!!!
Pluto needs to be reinstated as a full planet.
No
Get over it crybaby!
@@boomdogg38yes
@@annalouux8553yes. 3 to 1, voting closed. Just as fair as the IAU vote, so should hold 😊
If they did that, a couple hundred other bodies would be planets too
Next plan, living in submarine inside Pluto's ocean using CH4 fuel.🐈
Hold on. Science can connect to this probe near Pluto but I can’t get my cell to stay at 3 bars? Something is not right.
Wao amazing!😊😊😊
I honestly think it's likely that many of the objects in the outer part of the solar system have the right ingredients for life (Pluto, Europa, etc) and that if those objects were suddenly closer to the sun, that life would eventually form there. That's assuming, of course, that life hasn't already found a way despite being so far out and frigid.
Fascinating. Thank you!
It is a shame Pluto was demoted, he could have really become something when he grew up.
I love these videos!
I wonder about the mission objectives? To study how the solar system form or to find out resources like zinc magnesium platinum and selicon? or to establish city and town on other planet ? Ensure your objectives are clear before even you explore the horozion. In the event you encounter any aliens the technology can not even decode the language it self .
"Yeah, that's right, I got all this cool stuff going on, but since I'm not a planet, guess you can't have any..." - Pluto
Thanks
10:47 Why do you show image of the St Lawrence Seaway back to front?
The discovery of Styx inspired us to Come Sail Away
Totally agree - she deserves her place in our system
Pluto is a visitor from another dimension.
Something that I've wondered about for the past few years. Is Charon really Pluto's satellite or are Charon and Pluto a double planetary system with minor planets? I mean Charon is 2/3 the size of Pluto and it doesn't orbit around it. The 2 seem to have somewhat of a synchronous orbit with each other as seen here 15:25.
They both orbit around an imaginary point well above the surface of Pluto (sorry, can't remember how far up). And are tidally locked. They always look at each other ;-)
Wait, so we can make a wireless connection span Millions of miles for space pictures but if I go out front and leave my phone on the couch my headphones can't stay connected?
Ridiculous 🤦♂️.
Just kidding, this is amazing.😄👍
You should have splashed out for the 600 million dollars headphones😂
NASA's bs 😂
Your headphones aren't as big as New Horizons.
@@mrbaab5932 well if I got them That big I'd probably need a neck brace just to hold my head straight if I bend down trying to do something.
😄👍
The Plutonians seen their first ufo .
True are true, no matter what we think, but we can only prove when we see it.
Nasa should go back to pluto and send a lander probe
,เป็นดาว ที่สวยที่สุด ในสายตา ของ Jupiter ❤
I love Pluto
If the New Horizon Spacecraft had taken the 14-year route to Pluto instead of the blistering fast 9-year route it could have entered orbit and would be on its 5th year right now studying every inch of the planet. What a wasted opportunity just because a few very old scientists at NASA feared they would not live long enough to see the 14-year mission reach Pluto and opted for a handful of pics in 9.
The most overlooked part of this video is the possibility of organic material on Pluto. AFAIK, organic material exists on at least one other planet. This gives weight to the hypothesis of abiotic oil.
ok.
I fucking knew it. It was a dormant Brethren Moon all along. Make us whole again, Isaac.
I've been there before
Hi destiny yes maybe there is life in the universe and every were as far as I know David 🚀🇬🇧❤️👍
I can exist without no one's power ❤
Is there a possibility that Pluto is the remaining half of the earth's moon ...which was separated by the collision.
At 56 seconds I see a road leading to 2 "craters". A close up of those "craters" shows construction in them. Almost exactly like the craters on the moon.
Yup, was there this morning and took a swim.
A pity Pluto lost his planet title. I wish they kept it, for old times sake :)
i don´t know much,but if it´s a sphere floating arround a sunon a constant plane,i call it a planet ^^
What amazes me is just how easy it is to shock NASA.
Great CGI
🌐🌋🔥🌊
1:40 And still recognized by most of us. 😃 Great video.
Where is new horizon going next?
I'm a fool in this field, so can anyone explain to me, if the planets move around the sun, how is it possible for an artificial satellite moving in a straight line to photograph all the planets in its path? Isn't it true that the farther a planet is from the sun, the longer its orbit and the less likely it is to meet an artificial satellite? especially to always be right in the middle of the photo. Please also note, to send a control signal to the satellite it takes 3-5 hours to arrive, and to confirm the results it takes the same time for the signal to reach the earth.
mohon ijin download untuk ditonton anak-anak ku ya kak
There is a lot more ocean on Neptune.
Scientist just had to catch a headline, what 3 years before the end of a 9 year journey to the planet? Pluto, viruses, I'm sure I'm forgetting something but currently scientist like to change definitions.
Because we all want space videos to be voiced by Peter Jones
So is Pluto a planet again?
Why is Pluto so red? Iron?
Pluto has 2-3 colors, the blue color comes from complex organic molecules in Pluto's atmosphere called tholins, which are themselves probably gray or Red but scatter light in blue wavelengths, is that help?
I think it is
this video wher va random edit clip from a diff pluto syetttt content as well
dislike the use of fictional visuals, and the leading questions without basis (water in core...🙄)... lovely explanations of stuff like ice sublimation, and details of chemical composition...
The place where frost giants lives ☺️👌
1 kilabit per second lmao oh hell nawl imagine trying to download a game at that speed 😂😂😂
I thought Pluto was not a planet anymore
Why don't we just send multiple probes to multiple planets. Creating a interplanetary WiFi mesh system. 😅
You're the reason I started my channel
Your channel looks like pseudo science crap. good luck with that shit.
What an absolutely total waste of 72 million dollars and for what? A few horrible pictures, nasa should be disbanded! SpaceX is truly the best space agency
Do you really read all comments?
Its the new trend, moons and planets having oceans, or had them, somehow I think there seeking viewer,
Fantastic thumbnail. Zero in common with reality though.
Videos like these are captivating but CGI made.
If there's an ocean it would be ice
Too bad these cameras couldn't take a good shot of the Earth while it was still near.
No.
Scooby-Doobie Dooooooooo!
Hä? I thought Pluto is not a Planet
I would be shocked if you knew what the meaning of the word "shocked" really is and how scientists are rarely shocked by anything...
Except lighting
Who exactly was shocked?
Not sure about an ocean ! But we know for sure there are giant fucking snails !!!
I was right
The answer is no.
There`s no ocean of water in Pluto. THE MOUNTAINS WOULD SINK!🤣🤣🤣
Meh. I'm waiting for them to fly by Goofy.
They took away Pluto... it's not a planet anymore... and now because of all the jokes they're changing the name of Uranus. It's now called.... Urectum!
What does it matter its not a planet anymore 😂😂😂😂😂
1st❤
Something exciting for you to talk about in preschool! Woohoo
@rocoe9019 yeahh 🤓😍
