I was a regukar reader of Pesumpadam magazine. I clearly remembrr in one Question Answer section one reader had mentioned why not Ganesan be honoured with Nadigar Tilakam title and it was accepted. In same year or so Ganesan took out a function to honour Bharatiyar and at that time this title was formalised.
Both MGR and Sivaji had mutual contempt. So MGR fans to equalise Sivaji brought in the title Makkal Tilakam. Since that Tilakam was important even Savitri got the title Nadigaiyar Tilakam.
I forgot to mention that the Pesum Padam issue was in 1957 and not in 1960.

My doubt is, why were actors like MUTHURAMAN(NAVARASA THILAGAM), JAISHANKAR (MAKKAL KALAIGNAR), VIJAY SETHUPATHI(MAKKAL SELVAN), S.S.R.( ILATCHIYA NADIGAR) & ACTRESSES LIKE PADMINI(NATTIYAPEROLI), B.SAROJA DEVI(ABHINAYA SARASWATHI, KANNADATHU PAINGILI), K.R.VIJAYA(PUNNAGAI ARASI), J.JAYALALITHA(KALAICHELVI) dropped from your list?
One humble but, strong request, see that the name of CHENNAI CENTRAL STATION is restored. It is really obnoxious to read that new long name, in fact, no one ever fills the form for reservation by the new name. If due efforts could be successfully taken & begotten, it will be great. No ill will towards the late MGR avargal, in fact, I used to enjoy seeing movies & hearing the songs from his movies.
Sir, of late, the social media is busy in distorting the facts about certain well known family members, including their ancestors, for political mileage, renaming the well known names of places, for obvious reasons. But, History is not a pack of fictional things, can you portray the real facts pertaining to such matters?
