Still absolutely amazed by the underratedness ( wow that's actually a word) of this film.

I loved how cinematography works. Continuous filming without cutting. Reminds of that hallway scene in Daredevil lol!!

I was very taken by this movie. It was based on a real life situation and trial. I was so intrigued by it that I decided to do some research and back story on the case. What I found out was very disappointing. I learned that, as usual, Hollywood distorted the factual elements of the entire story to make a dramatic movie. Young was NOT as innocent as described in the film. Henry was angry because he got caught trying to escape because McCane ratted him out and was going to kill him anyway as soon as he was released from solitary. I also found out that Young wasn't a simple petty thief but had a number of crimes under his belt by the time of his trial.

@@dennismood7476 Yeah I get that. Totally respect what you're saying. I also read into Henry Young's story after seeing this movie & found, like you, that it was a total misrepresentation of the facts for dramatic effect. Just like Braveheart, for example. Absolute horseshit compared to real events. Casino, a smattering of material facts muddled with inaccuracies & omissions to tunnel vision a story. Sully is another example. Made it into a drama where they tried to blame the pilots, where in actual fact they were hailed as heroes right from the off. That's what movies do, manipulate fact for commercial purposes. But that doesn't mean the drama they produce that reaches audiences doesn't have value. It entertains us, enthralls us, makes us feel. As a lot of fiction does, hence the power of movies.

@@gigoer1409 Good response. I agree with you 100%. As I said in my first comment: I was VERY impressed by the movie. That was the one film that made me a Kevin Bacon fan. Every movie he did after that, I watched specifically for his acting quality and found it to be top notch. There are a number of actors I put in top notch quality like tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Jack Nicholson, Kevin Costner, Val Kilmer, and a few more.
