Bobby I had a very similar relationship with my dad and when I lost him I went through many of the things you are going through. Don't feel bad ever for it taking time to get over. It takes a long time. Give yourself as much time as you need. Talk to people you love or spend time alone but remember it's okay to let go and cry.

I completely feel and understand the loss of a parent and being a child of older parents. Im one of 10 kids, I was number 9. My parents died 4 days apart when I was 30. My dad passed Nov 20, my mom four days later on the 24th, the day of my dads funeral. It was a complete fluke that it was so close together, but both had lung disease which eventually lead to cancer. Both died within a year of diagnosis. Bobby, I completely understand how you're feeling, the loss will always leave a hole in your heart, but your emotional side will definitely open up to all those you love and care for. Much love to you Bobby, Steve and your mom.

The best piece of advice I can give to you Bobby that a hospice nurse said to me when my Mom died, get yourself to a grief therapist as soon as you feel ready...This advice helped me immensely, and my emotions around unresolved issues with my Mom were able to be healed. Hugs and hearts to you xx

Hey man. I feel your pain. I'm an only child and my dad suffered from seasonal depression. They passed 3 months apart. Mom first. They were divorced and both remarried. I called to tell him, that day he had chest pain. 2 days later scheduled for quadruple bypass surgery. It didn't go well, he hung on for 3 months. Then, I got pregnant 3 months later so I didn't have time to grieve. You'll find along the way through this, you have blessings that'll help you get through. I read the book the secret and it may help you with the grieving and life in general. The result of the secret is when you get down, concentrate on what your thankful for AND gratefulness. It'll ease your struggle. Live to you and the entire tiger belly family ❤️😊🙏💪❣️🌛🌑🌜

I feel you Bobby, I was there when my mom took her last breath and having to be around my whole family and witnessing them screaming and in total devastation was nightmarish and fucked me up for years. Time heals all wounds brother!
These last two episodes i have related so much on how your dad passed and your life in general.
My grandpa died a couple years ago... it sucks... it wont go away for a long time... i dont know how to feel when my dad dies, i didnt know how how to feel when his dad died. Its tough when the people are gone that give you that deep calm... you know what i mean... a purely deep calm...

This ep was one of the funniest TigerBelly starts ever lol
Korean parents who grew up post war came from a very Confucius centric time. What that means is the granparents were expected to show the physical affection towards the grandkids BUT the parents had to remain stoic amd be disciplinarians. No coddling and no affection. Especially public displays. Even the mother wasn't supposed to carry the baby around be "loving" in the western sense. Its crazy and archaic when you think about it. Parents who broke those rules would be punished by the grandparents. Atleast within the households that followed those doctrines. This is what my mother explained to me in my later years. I didnt even know the word for love in korean until college in the early 90s. There was no affection in my household. No i love yous. Like my Bobby and John said, i knew and know my Dad through basic conversations but nothing deep. Thank you for touching on that subject. Tiger Belly for life!
