Elvis was physical perfection with sizzling charisma, a wonderful, generous heart, along with an awesome laugh and sense of humor. He had a voice from Heaven and sang with more passion and power than anyone I've ever seen. I could watch him in that black leather all day long. At the same time, listening to him sing hymns soothes the soul like none other.
You young ladies are silly, but I love it. I first heard Elvis in 1956 when I was 9, someone had a radio on and all of a sudden "Hound Dog" came on and I just like that, I discovered "rock 'n roll". A few years ago on a trip with a buddy we stopped and visited Graceland and in the parking lot one of the signs read..."You had me at Hound Dog"...I felt the same way. I got to see The Beatles, the Stones, and Dylan and Joan Baez back in the day, but I never got to see Elvis.
Damn, that was funny - I watched 3 in a row: 9 yr olds, teens and adult ladies.😂😂😂 I am 70, and had been a fan since the beginning of his career. He died while I was traveling in Germany. He was very popular there so I knew something terrible had happened when I saw the huge headlines. I bought a newspaper and took hours to read it because my German was very poor. Everyone seemed stunned and subdued. Still sad.

He did a rehearsal version but the one that was broadcasted around the world was the best. He was wearing a yellow lei, a red/white lei n red scarf. I grew up in the Elvis era and let me tell ya, the women, and men too, including me loved Elvis Presley. Whatever "it" is, he had it. Thats for sure. I can tell you that my grandmother was an Elvis fan. I'm not sure she would have been as open with her thoughts as I am. Lol. My husband is a huge Elvis fan, he is a singer/performer. I actually got married at Graceland.

Oh good lord no! I'm in the middle of rehearsals with two different shows. This was an 8 hour day at the theatre, with some downtime, so we thought it would be fun. Nope the kids education comes first. Lol
