- a conversation about the new york vs the bay area, creative inspiration, hustle culture, and being so "busy". When all's said and done I do love being in New York so far, I just admit it's not good for the reasons a lot of people claim.

Hey Chris, love the video. Just wanted to add a tad bit about a specific city or location being conducive to creativity. I would say if there were one thing that hampers creativity more than anything is a high cost of living. It's hard to keep the creative wheels going while one is stressing about paying for rent and the overall cost of living. I spent 3 months in Guadalajara, Mexico last year and was the most creative I've ever been, my cost of living decreased to 500-600 USD a month from $2500-3000 in CA. I'm currently in the process of moving to Mexico permanently for the purpose of leveraging a low cost of living and focusing on creative endeavors without running the risk of backtracking and getting back into the work grind. Artists have always gravitated to lower cost of living areas for this reason. So, while I agree with you that creativity isn't location dependent, outside factors related to location can hamper creativity. keep up the good work.
Such a good point.
hustle culture / fast pace is good to an extent, but can be toxic after a while as when I started to feel I'm falling behind it caused me to burn out
i love your insightful takes on different subjects and topics... subscribed! :D
I’m from and live in Boston area and hearing that tech people in the bay area only talk to tech people is the craziest thing I’ve heard all day … I guess it’s slowly changing but basically none of my friends are in tech
Hey Chris! Big fan since the beginning! Are you going to go back into tech?

Been following you for some time now, and the "move to New York" has been a common theme amongst my Asian friends, especially the guys. I've from them that NYC is less racist against them socially, do you feel more welcome there vs SF?
