Thanks for putting this video on CZcams. I found an easier way to get the oil cooler out though. If you leave the last bolt toward the rear in the whole exhaust manifold will swing up out of the way enough to pull the oil cooler out the bottom.

I wish these guys were my neighbors! I just bought an 88 with the same exact problem out of state and trying to work out logistics to bring it home.

Y'all seem like a pretty fellers. Good times. I like how your videos are realistic. Definitely relatable. good job. It's nice getting to watch someone else get the experience. So that way I don't feel so bad. Watching you guys go through the process makes me feel a whole lot. Better. Hell I wish I was there helping you guys out. I wish you were here helping me out.,😁. I'm hoping this part is as far as I have to go and I'm working on this damn truck trying to figure out what the hell went wrong for a while now went to drain the oil and alls I got was water well for quite a while I fix this f****** cooler. I don't know f****** flush the Indian a little bit slap it back together. And hopefully it'll turn that way I won't just have to scrap the whole damn thing.

i left the front oil cooler adapter bolted to the engine just unbolted the oil filter adapter and pried the cooler out of the front housing i changed the seals on the back adapter and pressed the back adapter back on to the oil cooler then fed the oil cooler into the front adapter still bolted on to the engine used a ratchet strap to push the oil cooler into the front adapter worked great for me

I am buying a 94 7.3 this weekend, They guy selling it thinks it needs a new head gasket, from what he was saying I am hoping it is the oil cooler. Ok what he told me was when he 1st noticed a problem oil was getting into the coolent, then after having to move it around a bit it is now putting coolent into the oil. So my hope is that it is just the oil cooler and the Engine will not need head work. ohh it is an IDI though he says it is manually injected so MDI ? Truck is a F350 king cab dually long bed with a 4 speed stick shift body is straight but one of the rear fiberglass fenders has some damage. I am also repairing an old sail boat that needs some fiberglass work so hoping that will be an easy fix

I think you undo the steering shaft and you can sneak it by.

That really sucks. Did you keep a close watch on it for those 2 months? or did you just check it and noticed it after the 2 months. And when it was changed if it's really bad you can see the o rings are cracked then you know that was for sure your problem. And if you don't lube up the o rings good then they can be damaged going back together. Mine is a 90 crew cab , When I bought it I didn't know it had been setting for 20 years and I'm in Florida very hot . All the rubber on the hole truck is bad. The guy told me it had been setting for 8 years , found the registration then I saw it had been setting for 20 years.

Take lose the motor mount and jack up the engine. You don't have to take off the exhaust manifold.

Get rid of all those return lines and put on R & D Billet Fuel Rails.
