Foundation Professor of the School of Earth and Space Exploration, Department of Physics, and director of the Origins Project, Arizona State University, Tempe.
Lawrence Krauss was one of the first physicists to suggest that most of the mass and energy of the universe resides in empty space, an idea now widely known as “dark energy.” He is an advocate of “scientific skepticism, science education, and the science of morality” and appears regularly in national media for public outreach in science. He currently serves on the advisory board of Scientists and Engineers for America, an organization focused on promoting sound science in American government.

I love how Professor/Dr. Krauss keeps jabbing at his speaking position. 6th overall, 3rd in cosmology & 1st after lunch. Where everyone is tired from the lunch break. 😂 No matter (pun intended) he has mastered the art of giving a lecture & handling a debate. He always performs with great stuff. Thank you Dr. Krauss
Krauss is genuine genius squared. a pleasant inspirational guy with a gift of making difficult topics come alive. although I can't follow him 100 per cent what I did follow blows my mind. he is a hero of mine, like a great musician he is quick and totally tuned up and ready to gig. a pleasure to hear scientific stuff about the universe explained step by step. Therefore… I am amazed that there is love and mindfulness of humankind… let alone of me. What a moment this is! The less significant and the more remote one is depicted as being, the greater and less credible one perceives the incarnation and the love of God to be. It IS incredible! Oddly, these things (in this presentation) help me see that, how and why we are each and all unique and precious. The perceived diminishment of human significance in science and philosophy is no argument against the wisdom of God or the wonder of God’s grace toward us; it is the measure of it, to say the least!

On 'Time': 1:30:15 is a result of being misconstrued about 'time' (it is not a physical property, change is), as is 1:29:45 (where you can observe dynamics without any reference to arbitrary time units).
As for 'something from nothing', the fact that a paradox exists ('something' from 'nothing') means our thinking about 'something' (or 'nothing') (or both) is not correct (just like the Grandfather Paradox indicated that 'time' was being misconstrued).

This verse shows another aspect of the Qur’anic miracle, which is that the sea wave that all people only knew was one wave in the seas

All these and other matters that I have not mentioned indicate that this is a prophet from God..More important than that, as I told you, is the only religion that commands you to worship one Creator, who created everything and before him many prophets.

Krauss says that Gravitational Lensing bends light... then says that this means space is curved. These statements seem at odds with each other.
If the path of light indicates the geometry of space then surely the statement 'space is curved' relies upon an assumption that light is traveling in straight lines through that curved medium. If this is the case then the path of light around a gravitational lens indicates the shortest path through the Lens/Galaxy and space truly is curved.
But in my ignorance I find this unclear and have a few questions.
Does science hold the curvature of space and the curvature of light to be equivalent and equally correct views of the same phenomenon. Or is one of these objectively true whilst the other is just a colourful simplification to assist the classical mind.
If only one is objectively true ... then surely there must be a second method of measurement of spacial curvature which doesn't rely on electromagnetic waves and thus isolates spacial curvature.
If both are held to be true, then can we truly say that space is curved?
I guess massless particles trajectories are not bent by gravity just as chargeless particles are not bent by magnetism. Would massless chargeless particles also be gravitationally lensed ? Is this the evidence that it is space that is curved rather than waves bent ?

This curvature is caused by the local energy content (usually in the form of mass). The Earth for instance, is traveling in a straight line (called a geadesic). But the medium in which it is travelling is so curved that it looks as if it is orbiting the Sun in an ellipse. Same thing with light.
What Krauss is saying however, when he says the universe is flat, is that the average (global) curvature of spacetime is zero, meaning if you could see at an infinite distance, you wouldn't see the back of your head... but that doesn't prevent spacetime from being locally curved.

My point being, that perhaps light travels in perfectly straight lines and our intuition is warped.
Gravity is useful and predictive, but have we yet seen a graviton or a field of carrier 'stuff' ?
In relation to a second massive object, an object in motion follows a curved path when no other forces act upon it. If space is curved then gravity need not be a force at all ...
... and light travels in straight lines - perhaps even defines them.

I had a great discussion yesterday regarding a 'zero universes' interpretation of QM ... which, though highly counterintuitive and quite probably wholly wrong - was an amazing mindstretcher which tied together so many disparate ideas rather succinctly... one of those debates where both parties end up somewhere they didn't expect and left with a lot to think about.

They also found in it, according to their claim, evidence of this madness, and they told the people: How can you believe this man who says that these fixed mountains move like clouds moving in the sky!
And today it is proven that the earth rotates, and with it the mountains, how did Muhammad know that and why is he telling you instead of the matter that makes people consider him crazy? The matter was not from him, but from God.

I will tell you what the Prophet said. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: One day the Bedouins who live in the desert will build tall towers, and this is my duty. Go and see where the
tallest buildings are and who owns them.
God Almighty: ((We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness?)
And God informed the Qur’an of this by saying: “Did you think that we created you without a purpose and that you would never return to us?”
All these and other matters that I have not mentioned indicate that this is a prophet from God..More important than that, as I told you, is the only religion that commands you to worship one Creator, who created everything and before him many prophets.
Say, if you wish, there is no god but God, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of God
