      I also noticed that MA5B. Great attention to detail for canon. It really annoys me that they could get this right in a cutscene of an RTS game but they used the MA5C model for Halo CE anniversary, which makes no sense at all.

      The difference in strenght between Forge and Ripa was pretty well shown on this cutscene. Forge throwing everything at the arbiter, even a giant unstable reactor, using his whole body to knock him down and unload a full pistol magazine into his hand just to get him to let go of his sword. Were it not for that "cheap move" Forge would have died there. Yes, it was a dirty move, but it also was the only way he had of surviving that fight.

      I think it's to show how humans are just outmatched by elites physically and the only way a human can beat an Elite 1v1 is either through cunning or being a genetically modified super soldier raised from birth to fight. I wouldn't call it a cheap trick but a cunning tactic where Forge used the Arbiter's arrogance against him to turn the tables. Also those Elites are honor guard they use melee weapons since it is considered more honorable than ranged weapons. Remember the Elites where based off the Japanese code/way of Bushido.

    • @caramelcorn6777
      @caramelcorn6777 Před 4 lety +4

      That's fair, and I appreciate the idea of the contrast. For me though, the situation feels so artificial that it breaks my suspension of disbelief.
      Not a single elite is carrying a gun or has an energy shield, and the invisible elites coming at the Spartans decloak at a nonsensical and least opportune time.
      That Forge has to go up against the Arbiter alone is entirely his own doing, so their entire fight feels [more] contrived. It seemed motivated by a petty grudge, and he boasted afterwards that he would've beaten Arbiter the first time (which I find kinda delusional), which makes me strongly dislike Forge.
      I also struggle to enjoy the fight scene at times because of how poorly choreographed it feels. Arbiter forgets he has a usable left arm from the time he loses his energy sword for that hand to the time he drops his right one. When Forge tackles Arbiter's right arm, Arbiter has such a massive number of things he could do, but he just lays there and takes it until Forge has emptied a pistol clip into his hand. Sword tunnel vision, I guess? But let's not touch upon how asinine it is that Forge is able to keep Arbiter's right arm pinned completely to the ground, but Arbiter's left arm is easily strong enough to lift his entire body. Though let's give Forge some credit here, too; he could've stuck that pistol under Arbiter's head and emptied it into him, but instead he decides to shoot his hand?
