It looks like we hunt in the same region. Thus has been by far the hardest year of hunting for me and my fellow hunters. Thus heat is unprecedented. I'm heading out this Sunday there's actually snow in the forecast. Anyway good luck, and keep these awesome videos coming.
I used to run the ridges like you when I was younger. But learned by experience and by listening to the "old timers", to "Walk little look lots". Saw some nice country in your video . Mule deer at this time of the year where I am are migrating to winter ranges. Lots of activity till mid morning then they seek cover and lay up for a while. One question I have is, what did you see on your trail cameras? When were they moving. Great Video, thanks for taking us along. Good luck for the rest of the year.!
I appreciate the tip, thank you. On one of my cams I got a few bucks. Nothing worth noting for size, but something to note in that specific spot was that the bucks moving in and out were rutting. I’ve seen does in there all year round
The population of Deer has to be managed. Hunting is the most humane alternative. Our Hunting fees go toward managing and preserving the species.Starvation and disease of overpopulated areas is not the result of hunting. I suggest you look into the history and results of management and non management of the deer population , especially in urban areas. Go try and pet your cute little deer while he is eating your rose bush!
