Thanks to your parents and grandparents for raising you with commonsense and love. God bless
I love watching your videos, I do all my own repairs and my daughter likes to help out. I hope she can stay interested and one day be as handy as you.
Great job Rachel. Your knowledge and ability are amazing. Your Dad and Grandpa must have spent a great deal of time with you to pass on what they know to you like they did and should be congratulated.
My granddaughter has been pulling since she was 11. She will be 18 this year and is still interested. We have won points several years in a row with a John Deere 720. I bought a 185 Allis and run it as stock for two years, Now I put a turbo on it and stripped it down to 5500#. So this year will be the learning curve all over again. I have some video on CZcams of her pulling. I really enjoy your videos and advice on repairs.
I think those top link straps are the hidden success on that little ford. Guys around here install the top links and support them to the drawbar with irons. Lift the drawbar up with plenty of pressure. Your rear weight transfer is now on the top link mount on the 3pt system. Really makes a difference
Brings back great memories.
Fron the 50s and 60s.
Fly pulls
Dead weight pulls.
County fairs North central Ohio.
Thanks Rachel
We love all of your videos.
My Monther was named Rachel from a rance in south east Kansas.
I have a sister Rachel
And my wife of 49 years and I named our daughter Rachel. 😎🤗😍
soillife1 , in the 50s, my town field days used a stoneboat, and piled 100# bags of sand on the stone boat.
When a farm tractor made a successful run... six or eight young farmers would quickly pile on 10 more bags...
Watching the young men hustle to get the load on, made the event real exciting for everyone... the tractors back then were less than 60hp, and with those bags, you really could visualize the work that machine was doing.
Thank you for all the informative videos you and your father have produced.
You need to show us in these videos with a sled attached. I have heard that having the weight lower allows more transfer of power as well. If you are too high, you are reducing your weight on front tires, which affects the amount of power you have on rear wheels, effectively you are using much of your power lifting the front of the tractor.
Also, I want to apologize for all the men out there that keep commenting on your looks and the things they want to do with you. It is really disappointing to see people act this way. It is no wonder that so many ladies no longer want to do Social Media posts or choose to read/comment. Thank you for your great work. (Happily married Christian man from Texas.)
Higher is better. You get more weight on the rear tires so more grip
And all this time I thought those trophies were won by Dan. Good for you, Rachel!
This is one cool girl !!! I love it. Great video, great info.
They hooked you up! Great advice!
Gotta add a... BooM!!
very good info, I always enjoy your videos
Ms. Rachel : Slap hazard ; I pulled 3.5 tons down the road . My , Dad kept stomping the SUB's brakes ( Going down hill ).
I quit we are going back up hill. Our , 9N pulled it back home.
Pop , still using the brakes. The 9N 's rear tire ( plowed ) up the pavement. It , comes back 🕳️ when it rains.
😎 Bryan
Great information as always.
You look really professional and businesslike in that fantastic blue top.
Hurry up and make another video.
Your Tractor Beam is pulling me in.
Rachel......
Just be a little careful nothing breaks low down, you have stabiliser bars to your top link..
if you have a snap on the lower draw bar, the pull will be on your top link............
Pulling on the top link means your tractor nose will flip up and over crushing you...
Take care from Wales... x
It would be cool to see a video of you do a tractor pull. Great video.
Google antiquetractorblog.com. Rachel wrote an article that covers the same points as this video. The article includes pictures of Rachel pulling on an 8N, her sister, Hannah, pulling on the famous pink Jubilee and her dad on a Farmall M.
WOW, THANKS FOR THE ADVICE! I've been wondering about that. I'd like to and try out my 1952 F8N at a pulling event.
Rich Peterson I’ll also try on my 8n although mine doesn’t spin the tires at the pull it looses power and the sled they had last year was over sized for the antique tractors worked great for the bigger farm stock but not so good for the small tractors
@@kylewil12plays I tuned mine by Rachel's video on getting the most horse power from your F8N. I always burn high test (no-etholine) with a lead additive. It runs great with plenty of power for what it is. I think I would also try an octane booster like "RACE GAS" (if allowed) at a tractor pull.
Rich Peterson unfortunately no matter what I do mine will be underpowered because it does not have a 8n engine somone at some point swapped it for a 9n maybe the original motor died at some point not sure
@@kylewil12plays There's rumors that they can be fitted with turbo conversion kits. I've been kind-of intrested in it also but only done initial research yet.
Rich Peterson I might look into that but not sure if that’s legal for stock antique tractor pull
All good advice no pulls in my area will allow you to pull off of 3 point or quick hitch arms
you took trigonometry and physics in high school, you made good advantage of your skills, even if you didnt have the math
We all love the work you do, keep up the good work you do...
Good to know, You're Purty and smart ! Thanks Rachel.
Really enjoyed this. Never been to a tractor pull. I know I would love it if I ever get the chance.
Very Cool & lnformative Video...That Ford's A Beaut! ;-)
I can’t get enough of her!
Nothing like going to a tractor pull!
Tochan u mean 👍🏻 Nice and simple explanation
DVLOGS Bolla
I am glad you have tractor fever .
Awesome video!
Great video
You are the King
thank you rachel
Hello! Great video. I got a question. Csn you pull a tractor 🚜 which its engine has seized, by putting it in neutral and tow it by another tractor?
yup that's about right Sask. Canada regulation weren't that far from your State only thing up here was no narrow fronts
I have a clevis just like she has in her left hand laying under my work bench. Don’t remember where it came from, maybe the John Deere B when I bought it.
Great video Rachel!
Do you have a video about some of the older hitch types. I have a Farmall BN and wonder how the hitch system is used and what kind of implements can I use with it? Thanks for the help
Nice work Miss Lady
Hello Rachel and greet video as always.
I was just wondering if these techniques carryover to larger more modern tractors as well with the same techniques and tricks still apply or is it just more applicable to the Vintage tractors?
Good thanks i m fast coment 🇮🇳👍🚜
'MERICA ! #1 in Tractor Pulls ! :-)
I Like to see you driving tractor.
I have a dumb question.
I have a 1958 IH 350 UT. It has the wide front end, and the TA.
Originally the hitch was supposed to work the Torque Amplifier. The harder it pulled, the more TA it would bring in.
Who ever owned the tractor before me welded the unit so you have to work the TA lever yourself. I have talked to a lot of IH fans, and one of them had used this type of hitch, and said it never worked right, and that's why it was welded.
Do you know anything about this option? I have a diagram how to put it together, and from that I could bring it back to stock, but I do see issues in the way the hitch was designed. I figure I could make one and work toward a hitch that would work fine. Like you said, I will have to raise the height to make it work right.
I'd be interested in any input you, or any one else may have on these.
Thanks and Smiles!
As far as I know, the TA was just a planetary gearset like in an automatic transmission, and didn't have any advantage over another gear in the regular transmission beyond being able to shift on the go without the use of a clutch. We had one on a W-450 diesel and it was worn out, when you threw the lever you simply ground to a halt.
would you do a video of the pto dyno that you use and or how to make one (diy) style ?
Very good
You go!
We want to see videos with some pulls.
The higher the hook up and the harder the tractor pulls gives more down pressure on the rear wheels giving more traction making it pull harder thus forth putting more down pressure on the wheels it's like a domino effect in your advantage just can get dangerous making the tractor want to flip over. One really should have wheelie bars when hooking just as or higher than the rear axle
Any videos from your pulling days???
so adoreable
What classes does that 8n pull in? We've tried pulling ours off of a swinging drawbar in as close as our club allows and it did terrible wasn't transferring weight at all. So we've went back to the lift arms pulling from the factory location with adding weight to the front and it's been doing great. Can you do video on your wheelie bars for that 8n we've started pulling with a new club and would love to see your set-up.
Lovely clevis.
Hey Rachael, How about some Videos of you pulling??
It's all about leverage, with the position of the hitch. Do the 23 degree tires pull better than the factory tires? The 23 degree tread was originally developed for better wear on the road.
IIRC, the Firestone ads of the day touted the aggressive angle for greater traction made possible by more durable tire compounds, the older tires would have simply broken the lugs off if they'd been 23 degrees. Similarly, even older tires had the lugs actually interlock with each other for more support.
read a forum about farmall m some guy said install the stepped pistons, swap the intake manifold to one from a LP gas, remove the muffler and air cleaner go open air induction should get 80hp
Add to the list "stroke the crank" if you want to get to 80 HP in a Farmall M.
@@DanGingell no way! Is that really a possibility?
@@billfischer6464: Absolutely. Tractor pulling in the Ingham County area of Michigan almost mandates a stroked engine to be competitive. There is a local fellow that strokes M cranks as much as 3/4 inch, but that requires alot of machine work on the block to maintain clearance to the crank. Look at getting higher compression pistons also. Guys around here have run as high as 13:1 compression in these old tractors. But beware: the more horsepower you pull, the shorter the life of the engine. I was advised by a guy pulling a W-6 Internationals to only go to 95 hp on those engines if you want them to last more than one pulling season.
@@DanGingell 80hp M with a stock crank is very doable!!
I love you!
My antique tractor can't enter. Too light weight for our tractor pulls. 1949 or 47 Massey Harris Pony Weights 1500 lbs
Hi.
When are the videos of you pulling going to be posted 👍
What's on the front for counter weight? These ford's flip over backwards kinda easy if the weight is hooked up high. My son flipped our jubilee over on top of himself last August, months in the hospital and the dental work is still ongoing.
I'm sorry to hear about your son's accident. Unfortunately there is some danger to this competition. The weight distribution, wheelie bars and hitch configuration is so important for safety. Wheelie bars are required in our club.
@@DanGingell I appreciate the response. We weren't even pulling a weight sled, we were pulling my truck out of a rut and it happened fast. He is 15 so he healed up fast. I noticed that ford's have no real good hookup points low on the rear axle, they are high. I was also curious about any ideas you may have on a diy front end loader for a jubilee? I see alot of people in the forums asking about this as well. Thank you
Estas hermosa .
Hi Rachel, greetings from México.
What's did you study, are you mechanical engineer?
She is a commonsense Farm Girl with loving and intelligent parents that raised her the right way..
Rachel, we have an NAA Ford. What model is this one?
The video shows an 8N Ford
😃😀😄😅😍
And no vido about You pulling?
“Clutch pedals”
thanks love your appearance
Oh come on!!! You can't say that and then no video no links nothing!?

whats with the terrible camera angles cuts
Wait......
why would I ever want to wreck my antique...palm to face!

"Clutch pedalS"? Never seen a tractor with more than one.
Rachel ,will you set on my face please???
Do you have a P.O. Box that accepts marriage proposals? Probably full already...
