    I videos of your two cylinder diesel tractors running couple three years ago somewhere and Mann did I ever want one after that I started gathering up stuff and then I kind of got cold on it. Maybe I better get back to work lol.!!

    I love seeing those two cylinder diesels pull. How many RPMs are they turning? The Massey Harris with a V8 looks like a fun project. Since I'm a big Chrysler fan Id like to build one with either a 360 LA block or for something really different a 318 poly. The neatest modified antique tractor I've ever seen was a John Deere G with a 392 Chrysler Hemi from an Imperial. They used the factory clutch in it.

    • @so.md.dirtfarmer2226
      @so.md.dirtfarmer2226  Před 7 měsíci +3

      Hey Dan! we were turning 2,250 rpm with the 720, more than that with the turbo 70.

      @@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 wow. That's a testament to how good those diesels really were. I have my dad's 70 diesel and a 730 diesel. When I overhaul the 730 I'd like to make it a solid four plow tractor, 75 HP.

    Grew up on JD 50, 620, and a little bit on a 720. I'd like to know what gear you are pulling in? Sure isn't 2nd or plowing gear!

    • @so.md.dirtfarmer2226
      @so.md.dirtfarmer2226  Před 7 měsíci +1

      That "720" was built from parts from a 70 and 730, the transmission is a 70 trans. We pulled in 4th gear which is considerably faster than 5th gear in a 720/730.

  • @user-fz9nk1bz3r
    @user-fz9nk1bz3r Před 7 měsíci +2

    How did you dual exhaust through the turbo. It looked like you were in 5th gear. And how did that sled work I didn't see the weight transfer move?

    • @so.md.dirtfarmer2226
      @so.md.dirtfarmer2226  Před 7 měsíci +1

      The 720 did not have a turbo, all bore and stroke power. That sled had 10,000 lbs of lead over the pan, all the weight box had to do was move over the rear axle so it wasn't counter balancing the lead and that would stop you!

  • @8ema533

      @@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 Hardwood, Va. It was a late 70's sled, had to have a pull back tractor. Medford rode on the side seat regardless of the dust and dirt thrown on him. He would run the Fredericksburg Fair pulls until they were a sanctioned pull, and later ran Antique pulls at many local (Northern VA, Piedmont area) pulls.
