some tips
1. Since you started a home business, you could purchase the ticket machine and charge people to come on your lot without doing anything!
2. The gift box by the mailbox contains a free PC that you could have used or sold (you can go into Buy mode to move the gift into the house)
3. Painting is another way to gain income without leaving the house :)
Judging by the video, AA wasn’t really trying to make it work. He was just watching things fall apart for our amusement.

Boy, do I have some deep lore for you all. SKIP THE PAINTING. Adults start with five aspiration points that they can use for various perks - pick pleasure as their secondary aspiration, give them all the perks, and write restaurant guides instead. Once they have a decent cooking skill you can make the lifetime money achievement in under a week. Second parent should prioritise flower arranging and make snapdragon bouquets to keep the motives full, with frequent dates and closet woohoos to keep them in platinum mood. The kid was always a dead weight though.
Oh, man, I had forgotten about snapdragon bouquets. I once lined the walls of my mansion with them. I called it the Snapdragon Citadel.
I had to make my nursery/playroom a flower-free zone. The bouquets satisfy a Sim's bladder need and my toddler was running out of time to be potty trained.
@@Xhalphehat happens of they are never potty trained. Are they just an adult sim in diapers or something?

Your shrink doesn't phase shift through your ceiling with an umbrella? Pleb.
Sims 2 is my favourite entry in the series, so many little details like opening drawers when cooking and the cinematics playing when major life events happen.
Still got fond memories of opening stores and selling furniture, cakes, and everything you can think of 😍
It's such a crime that it's become abandonware along with Sims 1
@@ST4RDUSTdoesn’t that mean free?
@@ST4RDUST if you contact origin customer support and show them you own any sims 2 copy (case, key, manual ,cd) they'll gift you the sims 2 ultimate collection free of charge.
RIGHTT Sims 2 really was the spiritual successor to the Sims 1, they captured the humor and quirkiness from the OG + tons of new stuff. It felt like a direct upgrade.
Sims 3 and 4 feel like separate games on their own with the basic 'Needs' system being the only real similarity.
@@ayumuchorizo4486 I prefer 3 even though it's still terrible to get running smoothly, but I skipped 2. With how greedy EA gets over these things it's almost mandatory to skip a generation of the game if you're buying it all legit.
"Today we will survive in a small house without ever stepping foot outside"
Man we just got over doing that for 2 years and now you wanna simulate it
Out of this entire completely unhinged video, the first thing that really seriously got me had to be "THE PHONE, THE PHONE IS RINGING!"
This house specifically is so nostalgic for me. 99% of my sims lived in this house, I guess because it was the smallest I would always pick it. As their families grew, they would expand into these enormous monstrosities. Also like half of my sims just spent their lives building servo robots, as a kid I had a very particular niche.
I am glad you’re back to this more meandering style that made me fall in love with your storytelling.
The use of the Chinese Dance from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite for the placement of the Chinese lion statue was much appreciated.
Poor Karen loves facial hair but all he has is a mustache, and poor Chad likes 'em big but she's just medium.
I'm surprised in all the Sims 2 stuff they put out there's no option for homeschooling.
That's actually as big as you can get in 2. It's not very realistic but that's all they could do back then unlike now where they purposefully leave out things so they can sell you it later.
It took until The Sims 3 for the body slider to really be a thing, and back in the old days you needed a separate model/mesh for each "weight class" (for lack of a better term) a Sim could be. Presumably to lessen the amount of work they had to do, TS2 had only the same number of weight classes the first game had: Fit, thin and fat (or more of a chubby, for female Sims). They could in theory have had fat look like the extreme fat end of the slider in TS3 I guess, but it may've been considered too big of a leap when a Sim gains weight and goes from thin to fat.
@LonelySpaceDetective precisely, besides don't forget they also had to fit everything of a physical disk. it was all technical limitations, today's flexible meshes really are a godsent
What he didn't realize was that little karen was the first one repo'd
I still can remember the release day of the expansion the sims hot date for the sims 1. I was sick at home that day but sneaked out to get those cd-roms.
When I played the Sims, I always made one of the sims read cooking books and watch cooking TV shows, and forced everybody to eat cereal until that one sim got to cooking level 3, because I figured then they shouldn’t start a fire at the oven. All my Sims always specialized in a certain skill, so eventually all my machines were tinkered with to be unbreakable. Eventually, my family owned every business in the town. Eventually, my family was making thousands of dollars a week and none of them had jobs.
Eventually.
The Sims 2 was released in 2004 fyi.
Btw you should've gone with painting, you can make good money with that very fast and you can sell the paintings you make along the way. Writing is a fool's errand in Sims 2.
I mean...living in a house with no doors, where you can still 'lose' a child, is also a fool's errand...
I think what the child was saying at the start was that "OIL is used to create plastic that gives us wonderful things like BALLS and also creates lots of JOBS"
Clearly wise beyond her years.
sadly that wisdom never got to fruition. rip little karen
which goes to show the reaches of Big Oil's subliminar propaganda
Now that he's sold his novel, he's more like Tad Ambiguous. I'll show myself out.
The child’s origins is the ambiguous part
The amount of anxiety this gave me because you don't get paid for novels if you don't own a phone 😭
Whaaaat?
Yup, if you want to write about Restaurant reviews and novels, you need a phone to receive money via dialog box.
14:23 he does have a phone! I think there may be larger problems with Chad’s career path😂
He didn't buy it until after he had already finished the first novel which is why he didn't gain any money from it. he spent most of the video writing the first one & boy I was stressin lol
@@momo_iro335 Also I think the novel writing is tied to the computer you are using, so by working from two different computers, he may have technically been working on two novels at a time so it took longer and wasted a bunch of time!
I remember playing the sims 2 on the ps2 growing up. Sims 2 castaway was the closest thing i could get to minecraft until i could afford to pay for an upgrade on. Very fond memories. Those games along side jak and daxter made my childhood great
"We'll make him a writer."
"He likes big blonde women. Unfortunately, shes attracted to hard workers."

Damn, im just jealous that AA can get Sims 2 running in 2024
What's the difficulty? It's been a minute but I know I had sims 1 working a few years back.
What's different about 2?
@majorpwner241 I managed to successfully download it online once from an abandonware site but it kept crashing. Makes me wish I still had Windows XP, Windows 10 and Sims 2 are very compatible, I believe AA has another computer with Windows XP for the older games
@@majorpwner241 often the modern graphics drivers can't recognize the game.
Graphics rule maker and Sims Wiki are useful tools to fix the issue.
@@majorpwner241sims 1 is easy. Mine runs flawlessly except if I switch windows I have to restart cause it makes dialog boxes too hard to read.
Sims 2 is harder. I got it working a while ago but like i said in another comment, leaving cheats on and exiting the game can corrupt the game files. So I have to reinstall it soon.
I’m guessing you’ve run into “blocked by administrator” notifications; I can’t post the website address on CZcams, but basic gist is you get command prompt running as administrator, set it to the drive the disc is in, then type in “Run Exe”… or, something like that.
The solution was on the ea answers website.

What black magic do you use to get Sims 2 to run on modern systems?! 😂😂😂
Funny enough, I got the original Sims to work, no luck with Sims 2 though...
I did a playthrough of it a few weeks ago, you can use a patcher called Graphics Rules Maker to fix the resolution and get it out of forced fullscreen, and a separate patch also exists for bugfixing, but I don't remember it's specific name.
The Osab Installer comes with all the fixes you need as well as preorder and store content 👍
You can use Graphic Rules Maker to make the game recognize your gpu. There are other tips at r/sims2help megathread too.
I second using Osab’s Installer and guide for the sims 2! If you find it confusing, acottonsock on CZcams has a video tutorial on setting up the game!

I feel bad for anyone named Karen. Since every person named Karen I've known was a nice person.
I had a teacher called Karen. She gave people slips for doing badly on her weekly vocab tests (3 slips = detention) and she left halfway through the year to become a solicitor.
Digging the editing, you definitely found a good editor

Haha I love seeing people revisiting childhood games and reminiscing together about the good times we had with games like this!
I would love to see a continuation of this narrative
With two blond parents it's almost impossible for the daughter to have black hair.
I have bad news for poor Chad Ambiguous
Not necessarily; recessive genes.
If theyre both blond from purely blond genetics then yes, its virtually impossible without a mutation; if either party was the blond child of just one non-blond parents, the non-blond genes are still there just waiting to burst out.
@@Your-Least-Favorite-Stranger As a rule of thumb blond hair is recessive to black hair. It should be impossible for the two blond parents to produce a black haired kid. This isn't something that can skip a generation with recessive genes as blond would be the recessive gene.
Personally, I would sooner believe that Karen just dyed her hair.
@@NifirinPunnet squares. Not impossible, just unlikely depending on how far back the genes go.
@@Your-Least-Favorite-StrangerPunnett squares are specifically what makes it impossible, if both parents are blonde then they both have 2 copies of the recessive gene, making their Punnett square all lowercase for a lack of a better word.
The other way around is possible, but only if both black haired parents carry the blonde gene (and not show it due to the black haired gene manifesting more).
(Not in sims 2 tho, all sims made by the player have two copies of the same color in their genetics, you have to actually play for a few generations before recessive genes come into play, or get lucky with the townies, because some do have those).
As you said in your first comment, the closest to real this child is, is a mutation.
She was trying to tell you Kramer was right about the oil bladder
I could not stop laughing when those people kept hanging out on the lot
Don't know why, but this video feells kinda weird. It doesn't have the usual AA tone and vibe. Maybe I'm just hallucinating or something.
