- The Duratus Mind - A podcast exploring all things performance, mindset and motivation. Gaz, a former Special Forces Sergeant Major but now personal coach, opens up his network to try and understand what motivates some to risk so much, why some are so driven, and what it really takes to achieve success.
ThruDark are a technical outdoor clothing company born from arduous environments and highly demanding circumstances. The three directors of the company were all forged from decades within UK Special Forces. Nowhere in the clothing industry does their tagline of ‘Endeavour Through Adversity’ command such authenticity. Operational experiences define their products function.
Along with the host Gaz, Anthony 'Staz' Stazicker, Louis Tinsley and Jay Morton talk all things mindset, purpose, resilience, success and military transition. Jay also shares his experiences as a DS on the hit TV show SAS WDW. This is a both lighthearted and unusual insight into the minds of one of the worlds most unique brands.

Just watched this for the second time, what a top chat between a sound bunch of lads. Still saving for the kit but one day!
Great watch , enjoying the series. Some very good insights , I liked the comments on Nims , that man deserves a lot more recognition.
Yes he does. Sports personality of the year for starters!! unfortunately he won't get a look in. He also doesn't care for doing it for likes either.
We enjoy the chats and there's plenty more to come.
It's great to have brands like Arc'teryx, Vollebak and now Thrudark that put quality as first and second priority, and don't apologise for it. The quest for 'no fail' and high performance over years and years of use is noble and necessary! Great Part 2 lads
Loving the feedback! thanks
Really great to listen. Defo pressure can be over powering. Proving yourself in civie street. Dial it down, enjoy, be yourself. Don't try and be something your not as it can take you down the wrong road. Loads of great feedback. Keep it going
Amazing feedback - thank you and we're glad you enjoyed it. Yes, lots of lessons and so many more to come for the subscribers. Enjoy!!
Another great pod Gaz. great set of lads bringing out some awesome bits of kit even though they get me in the bad books with the other half when she looks in my bank account.
Help her learn their value!! buy her a beanie!!
Great listen thoroughly enjoyed the podcast, motivation to get out of that 9-5 trap for sure! Hopefully be able to cop one of the jackets soon, all the best 👊🏼
Thank you for the comment Pal. Much appreciated. 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Great video as always Gaz and what a top bunch of lads, one day I’ll buy some of the kit even if I have to sell a kidney.
Both kidneys mate but totally worth it.😂 Thank you, appreciate the comment🤜🏼🤛🏼
Good set of interviews, Subscribed - re: SEALs and the wrong character - biggest issue for them is they have direct entry by civies - the 3 year minimum for Army & RM before being allowed to attempt selection makes a massive difference. It's already effectively pre-filtered in comparison (excludes Reserves obvs, but it seems their roles have been revised recently.)
Also, if the ThruDark guys fancy using a Mountain Rescue member as a tester, let me know ;)
A huge topic on the selection processes for both units. They're looking for similar people but filtering in different ways. SEALs and SBS don't compare well. SBS and DEVGRU (Team 6) do, but again filter through their selection processes very differently.
Why is Mel Gibson in this podcast
@nordhorny yes he is, you prick!
Enjoyed part 2. Be interesting to know if all ex SF have the same mindset? Is it something they already have or is it tought?
Good good! I'm trying to unpick the key ingredients of the guys that get the success in the SF world. There are definitely trends of behaviour as a child, but the majority of the lads learn from their lessons and keep heading after their goal. There is no special dust you can sprinkle...but they are prepared to suffer for their craft and goals. ,
You pressed record that time ;) good one matey.
Cheers
Stay well
Steve Mac.
I know right! Mistakes happen all the time - but the value to them is that we admit them, learn from them and never make the same ones again.
how do I find this kit, I will be buying it for my next trip to Nepal

LOL at the end XD
Ali Maximus Power glad you liked it!
Sorry to ask.thanks.Can you guys rejoin SF now that you’ve exposed yourself to the media...if you chose to? Sorry to ask. Thanks.
We have all chosen to leave and have happily closed that chapter ourselves. We don't sweat what would be allowed or not allowed.
