Exploring the Carrot Callus

In this video, we get a close-up view of two types of calli (calluses ?) grown from carrot disks. Each disk was cut using a cork borer, from a slice of a whole carrot root, to include the cortex and the vascular cambium.
In both cases, the calluses appear to have originated at the junction between the cortex and the vascular tissue.
