its because they are tearing down something that's "above" us
80% of that one house is photo-shopped.
The photo resolution is so terrible and pixelated, the shades and colour so manipulated its hard to tell whats real and not, and not in a good way. It all looks like somone tried to photoshop pictures from a sims house by just pasting "realistic" "hd" textures over objects. It actually looks like a fucking nightmare.

I live with my friend who bought a shitty house for the money, barely knows shit abt what goes into a house to look for stuff hidden by trashy ppl who think they can build their own additions, im a maintenance tech so i get to see a lot of what to lookout for. The guys didnt get permits for anything, not even their electrical was legal or safe, garage in back full of garbage, literal trash that they had hauled our when he bought it. He paid for a fking mess. Only reason i live there is the rent is significantly cheaper to stay in a full house with minimal neighbors than it would be to rent an apartment. So glad I didnt buy into a house during the fear marketing, because my friend is an example of what happens when you rush. I feel bad for him constantly because first few weeks i was finding stuff that just made me shake my head. I wouldnt have bought the place, but idgaf. His mistake. Not mine.

I considered flipping my house once but my inner being became enraged at the idea of becoming the guy who does this. I literally can’t stomach doing this to a buyer.

The key is whether you added value to the house or not, which is possible but requires some knowledge and work.

Carpenter here, I spend my days overcharging to fix shit like this. The customers love me, have money to blow, and are more than willing to spend it on someone worthwhile. One of the best businesses you can get in to right now is carpentry/framing/construction/etc. All those fuckin garbage McMansions that got sold for nothing 20 years ago are falling apart fast. Endless work, insane pay. Get good at what you do, and start advertising to people who live in these neighborhoods. If you can suck it up and just get it done right, regardless of the prick customers- youll make bank. They're not all assholes though. I have a few customers who regularly order pizzas to their house when im working there, or send a text to say "Fresh keg down stairs, if you want a beer on lunch", and do the majority of my advertising for me by word of mouth.
As an aside, Nick was 100% spot on with everything he said. They found some real beauties here, I cant get over that fucking octobar in the basement. o_o Last one wasn't too horrific, just bad taste.
6 months late, but I'm just curious. What (if there is any) is the difference in how you work/the work you do for the assholes and the people who are considerate?
I'm broke but I always try to go out of my way to be nice to like wait staff and shit cause they get the worst assholes and they don't deserve it, and also it seems like I always get better service when I do, and I'm curious how other industries/people are affected in the same way by people who treat others like human beings vs being cunts.

Like the way restaurants fancy up their meal ads with CGI and food molds. Makes the food look 100x better than it really is, but it somehow still passes false advertising laws
I actually learned alot from this, ive been helping my friends do up their own houses and learning other things, but this is just a nice quick over view of what NOT to do.
All the fuckin' leaks around the skylights... probably didn't do flashing around the holes to divert the water. I'm sure that it will have other issues eventually but that's why I just put down a satellite mount for my Starlink that uses concrete blocks for weight. I was paranoid to put ANY holes in the garage roof because any hole, even well sealed, is a break in the waterproofing barrier of the house. AND IT WILL LEAK EVENTUALLY.
@@LGTheOneFreeManthe roof will leak eventually as well. Still, I would mount it on the side of the roof instead of the top
as long as you use the right fastener you should be ok. anything will eventually leak given enough time with no upkeep

Mansions historically used to be prestigious fortified inns during medieval times for dignitaries and lords, then as times became more peaceful, slowly transformed into luxurious places, then just got reduced to any house with a certain amount of square footage.

My coworker wanted to brag about how he spends money and I had to remind him he's literally about to drop 200k (plus 8k closing costs) on a trailer house for his bipolar wife he's been married to for a year and HER son, not his.
Not that there's anything wrong with trailer homes, they can be comfy, but you can literally use that 200k on a fixer upper on 12+ acres of land. And in our state, there's a 50/50 chance of having oil or cng on your land.
I still haven't moved out on my own and seeing this is actually helpful and hilarious thank you.
